    Re: Capel DI 414 problem

OK, I’ve found out what the error code is – either inlet valve or the flow meter. Now, I don’t want to have to buy both, so how do I test them so that I can buy the correct part?

    Thanks

    Re: Caple WMI1012 error code

    Thanks Peng.

A case of the machine stating the “bleedin’ obvious”!!! Shame it won’t tell you why…..

I suspect the pump’s had it again as the impeller doesn’t rotate in a nice ‘flicky’ way that it used to. It’s only been in less than a year (March 28th to be precise) – surely it should last longer than that? (It was a pattern purchased via UKWG after a similar problem).

I will pull it out again and have a look.

Sink coupling, which is all clear (now that I’ve gone through the rigmarole of changing the pump!)

I think the pump was on it’s way out anyway – it was quite noisy.

    Re: Cycle stopping

Would you Adam an’ Eve it. New pump – works fine but still won’t empty.

Disconnect drain hose and direct it into washing up bowl. Pump works fine. Reconnect hose. Pump works fine and IT EMPTIES. Must have been some crap in the pipe, despite nummerous attempts at blowing through it before.

    B****r.

Still, could have been a call-out charge instead of 20 quid. At least I’ve got a nice new pump.
I’ll know for next time 🙁
Thanks again to all who offered advice and UKWG for a prompt service.

    Re: Cycle stopping

I have just received a pattern pump from UKWG. The overall fitting looks compatible, but the plug into it is not: can I just replace the moulded plug with 2 separate spade connectors? Does it matter which way round they go in – I’m assuming as it’s AC it doesn’t.
I want to get this done tonight so any replies this evening would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Re: Cycle stopping

    Hi Penguin

Just got the pump out: the blade looks OK, the impellor rotates as described but there is a tiny amount of lateral movement – about 1 – 2mm I would guess. I’m not sure if this is an acceptable amount.

I’m going to send a picture to UKWG to see if the pattern they have is compatible. Let me know about the lateral play if poss. I have to say, it looks OK apart from that and definitely rotates when the machine is on.

    Re: Cycle stopping

I lied – it’s still playing up. It seems OK on Rinse and Spin, but not on a normal wash programme. Weird… 🙁

    Re: Cycle stopping

Thanks Peng. However, it appears that I’ve fixed it – took the drain pipe off and blew down it – out came lots of crap and it now drains OK. I have robbed you of a sale – sorry about that!

Once again, many thanks for such an excellent service. We know where to come for advice on any new appliance that we buy.

Ah Ha! We think it may be the WMI1012, pump is item number NF51100. Is this an engineers job or could I replace it? I’m a reasonably competent DIYer.

Re: whirlpool ADP4602L – not draining water

I have to admit complete ignorance of all things white goods, but if you look at my recent cry for help (“Capel DI414”) from last week, this may help. It worked a treat for me and saved me a fortune.

    Good luck

Result! Dishwasher working very nicely now. Many thanks for the advice, Penguin. Moral of the story: don’t trust a company that sends a boy round to do a man’s job!

So far so good. Ran it through 1 cycle, and it bleeped only when it had finished! I’ll keep you informed.

    Re: Capel DI414 problem

Ah ha! Now that would make sense, because on occasions, when we first switch it on, it tries to drain for ages and we need to re-start it. I’ll try that today and let you know how I get on.

    Many thanks

    WM
