Re: Condenser Drier "Container Full" NOT!!

Thanks to all for the help and advice above – right part of the machine now located and plenty of sludge/gunk removed! On our machine (a Bosch WTE 86304GB) it turns out that if you remover the condenser (which they suggest you do periodically anyway) and look underneath that, there’s a small plate towards the back of the machine with a couple of clips that you need to unclip. The float is in there. No need to unscrew anything, or remove the float, you can get at everything quite easily once you know where to look. If anyone’s interested I will try to upload a picture of what/where. You don’t want to see the sludge, though. It wasn’t a pretty sight! I’m embarrassed…..

That’s great, thanks. We stripped our machine down in the week, but couldn’t find a float, as we took off every panel except the left (looking from the front) as, to get to this meant dismantling the front of the machine. We nevertheless cleaned everything we could see and get to, put it all back together and hoped that would solve the problem. It didn’t, so we’re going to have to go back in again and tackle it from the left hand side panel, too. Your post’s given me the heart to have another go at it!

Re: Condenser Drier "Container Full" NOT!!

Hi there – many thanks for this. It does get regularly cleaned, though I will give that whole area a good clearing out now. Is that likely to fix the problem, or is there now a more complex blockage somewhere deep within the pump part of the machine?

Re: Condenser Drier "Container Full" NOT!!

Hi there – I was going to post about exactly the same thing. We have a Bosch Exxcel, about four years old, works great other than that, but it lights up indicating ‘container full’ at least once a drying cycle, stopping until re-started, and sometimes only going for a couple of minutes at a time before indicating ‘full’ again. I’m thinking there must be some sort of sensor within the machine which is giving it a false ‘full’ signal and am hoping that a kind engineer will tell me what bit to clear out, brush the dust off and put back in so that I can have a machine that works as well as it used to. Any help gratefully appreciated, as I don’t want to have to replace the whole thing.

Re: Tall freezer – considering Hotpoint FZS175P

Thanks for this, I really appreciate it – food for thought re frost-free vs the six-monthly battle/flood-fest of defrosting it myself! I’ll need to weigh up the options, I think.

    Edit to add
Have now looked at Bosch – the GSN28V01GB height is ok (185 is too tall for our space, this one is 175 H). While it it isn’t going to break the bank at £459 & 20 delivered – it will be £150 more than the Hotpoint – however maybe I won’t need to replace this one for 25 years either!!

The old one was an ‘Ocean’ (Beejam own brand) we bought just before they went into liquidation. It’s been well worth the money over the years 😛

Re: Looking for a tall, integrated fridge

Thank you – yet again! We’ll be giving that model a really good look, as it seems to be exactly what we need. I see you’re in Exeter – will your details be on that list of suppliers? (We’re also in Devon, about 15- 20 miles from Exeter will pm you with more specific details, if you’d be interested in quoting/supplying)

    Regards,

Quick update – we rang the ISE helpline number who were great – they searched for a supplier for us, and came back to us within an hour, who was offering next day delivery & installation & disposal of old machine, all for £270. Mum will be back home by Frdiay, so hopefully, that’s when she’ll take delivery of the new machine (ISE2). Will let you know how it all goes!

Re: Should mum go for a Zanussi or something else?

Thanks for such a prompt reply. The ISE2 looks a great machine, and seems to be exactly what she’d be after, but the one local supplier listed on the website doesn’t seem sure whether or not he supplies them! We’re waiting for him to get back to us with a price, and then we’ll see – but it could well end up with the Zanussi,so thanks for your reassurance on the brand overall.

Re: New washing Machine… decision time!

Thanks for your help – it wasn’t fixable, so we went for a new machine – the link you gave above was a strong contender, but in the end we went for a (cheaper end!) Miele – 5 year guarantee, good write-ups as far as I can see, and hopefully should do the job for a few years! The Co-op offered a good price combined with rapid delivery (so the machine arrived less than 36 hours after ordering) and it’s down to business already!

    So -poor but clean 😀
