ParticipantRe: My Smeg DWF44SS caused fire!!
I personally am not aware of any problems at present with any particular makes of dishwasher in regard to “Fire Risk”. Every household appliance that is fueled by gas or electricity is potentially a “Fire Risk” unless it is installed, serviced and maintained correctly. I can’t quote any figures but in any one year you will find an amazing amount of household fires attributed to “electrical faults”, these can be anything from wiring to toasters to televisions etc. etc. I think you were probably just unlucky, sorry. 🙁

ParticipantRe: cost installing dryer vent?
Professional venting through a cavity wall can be very expensive, it may involve Diamond Drilling a 100mm Hole, a simple enough job but the tools required to do it are expensive and as always you need to check thoroughly that you are not going to hit any hazards such as cabling or pipes :zap: best to phone for free quotes

ParticipantRe: AEG Competence 3201 B oven faulty/how to set clock?
Pressing Button 4 once should take it out of auto mode, if there is no response I suspect the Timer control unit is defective. 🙁

Press buttons 2 and 3 Simultaneously while pressing + or – to set correct time. Download a manual for this model from http://www.serviceforce.co.uk/pdfs/U04053.pdf hope that helps.

ParticipantRe: Clients “Rights” and do they have any?
The reported fault of a leak was an installation fault which was corrected at no cost to client or manufacturer because further information from client indicated more serious problems.

ParticipantRe: indesit 🙁
🙁 We all have to make a living but unfortunately I agree with the previous posting, Easy fix Merloni dont stand any guarantee period you may offer in most cases and end up costing too much time ultimately money. 🙁

ParticipantRe: Before They’re Even Installed!
I Initially thought this was part of an I.Q. Test and was expecting to be asked whose fault was it? Couldn’t work it out but blamed Merloni !!

ParticipantRe: Servis M 3000 Washing Machine
A discharge hose can over a period of time work its way down into a waste pipe as there is a pulsing motion once the water has discharged, a U trap should be fitted to the hose if it goes into its own waste pipe. If the discharge Hose is attached to the waste of a sink unit, a U trap should be fitted that takes the discharge hose above the water level in the sink.
Hope this helps -
