ParticipantRe: Samsung M1713N microwave – needs new light bulb
Thanks, Specialist. It looks like I’ll just have to cook in the dark then 8) – or at least until I get a new microwave.
Do any companies make ovens that HAVE parts that the customer can replace? 😕November 30, 2007 at 3:50 pm in reply to: Hotpoint Ultima WT940 – fabric conditioner not dispersing #235824nightshift

Penguin, the engineer came and said that not only had the spring in the door latch/catch broken, but the mechanism had failed. He didn’t have the part so I had to wait another week before it was fixed.
The parts he replaced were the spring and a switch that has T125 Metalflex MS-385 on it. He also replaced the big Grey ITW Fastex grey catch/latch.
All now ok.
Lucky I have five year perts/labour cover. 😆nightshift

Thanks Simon. I did a boil wash with powder and it’s cleared the smell.

Dave,
That’s exactly what it was. The engineer said that when I described the fault to him. He replaced the dispenser unit where the tablets/rinse aid etc sit and it’s been quiet as as mouse ever since.Thanks. 😀

Daz123,
That’s it exactly. Any ideas how I can ‘move’ it (the cycle) on, then ? 😕

How do I go about testing the thermostats (and are there two on this model – one in the door and the other under the heating element where the reset switch is) ?

ParticipantRe: Smeg DWI 45 E3 codes
The initial hot wash completed ok but has since reverted back to washing cold again and with the E3 codes. 😥
Looks like it’s something more serious – obviously the heating element isn’t the problem as that is the new one I’ve just put in.
Any other ideas ? 😕

So this is where I’ll find the loom then ? Yeah, I know about how sharp these edges are – I’ve already spilled some Claret in my previous investigations !!!

ParticipantRe: Smeg DWI 45 E3 codes
Thanks, Penguin. Will have a look at that tomorrow.
How do I expose the wiring loom – do I just undo the inside stainless steel door panel by removing the Philips screws ? 😕

ParticipantRe: Smeg DWI 45 E3 codes
It’s actually doing a (successful) wash at the moment !! I will check it tomorrow. 😯
Incidentally, when you said “Check for broken leads in the door harness where is “bends” them as it appears to be intermittent. “, what kind of leads should I be looking for and,are they easy to repair ?
Also, if it is a PCB replacement, how much would I be looking to pay for it and again how easy to install ?

Thanks, Penguin. I’ll kep you posted – as I’m actually going to attempt a repair / replacement on my heating element tomorrow…
The machine I have is a SMEG DWI 45 slimline and is about 6 years old. If it gets to the stage where I have to keep repairing and replacing parts I’ll just get a new dishwasher.
That’s the reason why I asked about how difficult it is to remove and fit the existing cupboard door onto the appliance itself.🙂

ParticipantRe: Baumatic BH12 Hob / B902 double oven Manuals needed.
Further to my initial e-mail re. Baumatic B902 double oven, I’m now not sure of the model. I can’t find the model no. anywhere on the ovens but, the control panel has: From the right hand side the following controls:
Right: Lower oven control dial
Middle: Upper Oven control dial
Left: Grill (which is in the upper oven) control dialExtreme left: 5 small push buttons under the LED display,
Hope this helps you, help me !! 😕
