Any chance this can get moved to the general forum, not just for the charity thing, but because I asked a genuine question on the biggest wire you engineers have pulled out of a washer?

SHe is a massue for a living, with me having a bad back, she offered to give me a massage 😯 Sadly, I’m no longer doing her area.

P.S she is a proper one, not one of those dodgy ones that offer extras. 😆

Sadly I don’t have an account with them, but would be prepaired to have one, if they allow sole traders. DO you have a contact number atall?

I find that the customers who want an after 6 appointment are usually proffesional people who can’t or wont take the time off work, but if they want anything after 5pm from me it does cost them an extra £25.00. most are ok with this. I tend to book late appointments only on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I find most customers will wait if they have to for the late appointment.

Thanks, that’s similar to what I had in mind, once i’m without contract.

Kwatt, in your opinion, would it be fair, to increase the labour charge, for such an appointment?

Don’t know about the dispenser coil, but I know the ones with ascol wash motors have been stuttering, like how you described.

Thinking of buying a new dishwasher, Hoover, hopefully more reliable then this piece of …………; Hoover is about £250.

😆 😆 The van is doing fine BTW.

Re: Hoover Performa 1300 – Unable to drain

Hi Guest, firstly, to check for blockages, lower the waste pipe into a bowl, if the water runs out freely, then you can assume you do not have a blockage. This really only leaves ‘a pump problem’, going by what you have already wrote, I gather that you are capable of removing the pump. Check that the impellor isn’t obstructed, if it is free of obstructions, you can assume it is goosed, go out to a spares shop, buy a new one and fit it.

kwatt wrote:Given that, what’s the point of recons if you can’t get a decent supply of quality appliances to recon?

Hi Kwatt, thats the point I was trying to make on the Remploy thread, they have taken away MY only source of ‘scrapped’ appliances by somehow getting the big scrap contracts. At a guess, I’d say Remploy are riding on a wave of political correctness, with a ‘recycle, employ disabled’ policy. I’d be interested to know how many small businesses have lost their main source of income, due to the Remploy take over?
You see, it wasn’t just about reconing, these appliance graveyards were good for otherwise expensive parts. It was a gamble to buy a machine, hoping the module/timer/motor worked, but I can honestly say, I have never lost the gamble when buying a scrapper for a certain part.
Anyways, the way to go is new and manu warranty from now on.

Thanks for the replies so far, I forgot to ask if the double job was from a work provider, which is the case here, would you charge the same?
