Fully digital this one, Heath, so no manual thermostats. Ususal problems are thermistors or board faults.

    Check this:

Also, the Bosch FFs are basically the same machines, so check through those threads as well.

Probably a “cause and effect” fault. The bang as the fan element goes can cause other damage.

Dave_Conway will be able to advise with regard to a replacement element.

    Re: parts/information cd’s.

It all seemed such a good idea…… I’ve been a member for 18 months and the site has changed the whole way I run my business, not mention my attitude towards it and my competitors/colleagues. That it happened very quickly impressed me and the option of contributing towards what was then a shoestring operation was very attractive. Quite a few of us did and do. As far as I know, we haven’t actually succeeded in spending a single penny of the Subscibers fund – democracy for you I suppose, but it did coincide with the upturn in UKW’s fortunes, so hey, we’ve got a bit of cash in the bank.

Now the original info idea was that we should establish a properly licensed library of as many tech discs as we could lay our hands on and make it available to the subscribers. Why them? Well, at the time the site was permanently skint, so it made sense to make it available to the subscribers who were effectively paying for it.

With the passage of a remarkabley small amount of time, the situation is now rather different. If the site, rather than the subscribers, can afford to collate this information and make it available as an annual disc for a nominal sum, that would be fantastic.

The point is that if UKW no longer needs the potential monies from the Subscribers even better.

The remaining problem is what to do with the accumulating fund from the Subscribers. A rainy day fund perhaps? A batch of free van stickers?

Maybe the immediate need of the “Subscribers Fund has passed and isn’t really a necessary backstop, but I am comfortable with the idea of contributing towards our club. That’s what it is when you get down to it. Maybe it’s a club with attitude, that’s changing our little world, but it’s still a club. It’s not a formal club like That Lot, or a business like the Other Lot, but by God we’re doing ourselves some good.

My post earlier was not meant to be devisive in any way. It was a recollection from a year ago – being a good old fashioned socialist with distinctly anarchistict tendencies, I’m all in favour of everything being freely (not necessarily free) available as required – at the time my idea was one way to do it.

Hope that makes things a little clearer, and perhaps something to ponder.

    Regards,
    Chris.

I think I suggested a while ago that we used some of our Subscribers money to establish a properly licensed library of all this sort of info. I think we decided it couldn’t be done. All in favour of having a go at it, perhaps we could subscribe for the info? Or make it part of the Subscribers forum for those fo us who choose to participate.

Re: malber 460 inox washing machine

The present suppressor is wired direct to the terminal block, the 5 terminal suppressor must be spliced into the loom; ie live and neutral in from terminal block, live and neutral out into loom. Fifth contact will be earth and must also be connected.

Probably simpler to get the right thing…….. Dave is our spares wizard and he will spot this. It’s a relatively low value part, so shouldn’t be too difficult to post one out to you.

As a temporary measure only, you can remove the suppressor from the circuit completely – the machine will function. Note that you should disconnect your computer and any other sensitive electronic equipment from your ring main just in case…..

Keep the Mrs happy short term anyway 😀 .

    Power off, of course.

I waited 9 months before giving up trying to get spares for a tabletop dishwasher out of that lot. Absolute, complete and total waste of time and space.

Good luck, do advise your customer about the wait though………

The suppressor, whilst a capacitance device, will not hold or store a charge, so can be handled and disposed of easily.

What you need is a three line suppressor, like this one:

Dave Conway should be able source one quite easily for you tomorrow.

    Re: CTD80 Ultima Condenser Dryer

These machines generate plenty of heat as part of the drying process. They should not steam the place up however. Plenty of air circulation around the appliance is essential.

If this is the case, you have a problem and should contact The Indesit Company under the terms of your guarantee.
