    Re: Pat-UK

If we accept Martin’s points, which I can largely agree with, that Pat’s problem is the process rather than a financial penalty ensuing, may I suggest that we offer to pay for him to consult a solicitor and find out how he should be playing this? None of us are sufficiently skilled to really know how he should play this, although we seem to be agreed that his customer/plaintiff is a prat. That isn’t the law though.

I don’t know what we should ask in return? A bit of quiet satisfaction is nice, but we have an opportunity to demonstrate “bared teeth” by UKW in defence of its own. This is a trivial matter in the great scheme of things, but were it publically noted that UKW had acted, a number of parties would have to take notice for the future.

We have discussed the AC at length and so far it has not been seen to do anything at all, bar nominally exist, so this might be a useful first outing. Doing it this way would deflect any responsibility away from Admin, or personalities, in fact the AC would be seen to be acting for the Membership in a positive way, instead of the veiled threat of the “big stick if you cock up” which will be one way that the council is perceived.

I know that we don’t have an AC Forum, but a statement from the AC that we have assisted Pat’s business (No name=no shame) would open a new door for us.

I know that Kevin is technically absolutely correct, but we don’t deal in absolutes, here we’re dealing with people. I think that Martin should sign Pat up to the Subscribers ASAP. I think that we should instruct Pat to see a solicitor ASAP. I further think that we should offer him £100 towards that consultation, with no strings beyond what I have suggested above.

    It’s worth it.

Failing that, I’ll have to activate the southern cell of the Penguinista early and deal with the matter. It would be a bit of a shame, as we were looking at disrupting the first Saturfday of Wimbledon.

As per the parallel thread, you could contact http://www.emwelec.co.uk or http://www.qer.biz with regard to reconditioned boards. I don’t know what their pricing is like to the public, but it will certainly be less than the brand new item. They will identify the board by the numbers on it BTW, not the model of the appliance.

If it’s a burnt joint at the corner terminal of the relay just hard wire it to the spade terminal at the end of the track and away it’ll all go again.

The spares@ operation on this site should be able to get one for you. Dave_Conway will pick up on this later and be able to advise.

    Re: Neff Oven Not Working

Please note that the thread contains prices for both the genuine Bosch component and a pattern alternative from the spares@ service on the site.

Labour rates vary widely across the country, so there is little point in quoting them in a nation-, indeed, world-wide forum.

Price of fitting should always be discussed at the time of making an appointment for a repair.

    Re: Servis WMA35P

    I think you’ll find it’s a Hotpoint………. 🙂

We can’t tell you how to do it blow by blow, but taking the front panel off the machine makes it quite straightforward. Power off of course.

Door seal is p/n is 1603291, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get one organised for you.

    Re: BEKO WMA17155

Got one of these yesterday – “pre-wash” flashing on the programme follower (Apparently “pre-wash” option button flashing is child lock). User book says to turn off and send for the engineer. Everything seemed to meter out acceptably, so have ordered power board from SEME (£37 – not too bad) and I’ll let you know how it works out.

    Re: Pat-UK

Pat may not be a Subscriber, but he is a Member and therefore part of the family. I’d offer him the support, especially as he doesn’t seem to have done anything about getting a solicitor, if I follow the thread correctly.

The transfer pipe from the bottom of the soap drawer to the top of the door gasket will be partly choked, causing the fill water to back up and flood.

    Re: Neff Oven Not Working

Fan oven element is p/no 493065, just under £40 from Bosch. It is entirely possible that a cheaper alternative part might be found through the spare@ facility on this site.

Your fitter will charge for an hours work, so determine the rate at the time of booking the call. Check Repairs@ or Directories for a UKW engineer in your area if you are not going to attempt the repair yourself.

If you are going to investigate further, power off please :plug:

Re: Bosch SGS5312GB/12 doesn’t stop or drain

    Andy,
If, when you hold down the two buttons for the reset, the display does not revert to zero and the drain pump cut in, you can be pretty sure that the computer is faulty.

The matrix is accessible under the left hand side panel.

The computer board is p/no 264877, it can be ordered from http://www.bshappliancecare.com at a cost of £97.53 plus VAT + P&P 😯 .

Alternately, you could contact http://www.emwelec.co.uk or http://www.qer.biz
Both of these firms specialise in the repair of appliance boards and should be able to help. I don’t know what their prices are to the public, but it will be less than a brand new replacement.
