Given that the nominal service life of a washer is 7 years, realistically you’re looking at an extra £14 per year for what you really like. Worth it?

Of the 4 you’ve listed, the WFX2467 is probably the best bet. 1200 spin is perfectly adequate and has extra options, as well as the noise and water efficiency which you have already noted.

A quick search on Google showed it available for around £305.

    Hope that’s some use,

It sludges up at the bottom – that’s what goes wrong with it. As a consequence water which should flow into the tub is backed up through the safety sytem and shuts down the fill valve. The solenoids are to allow water to be flushed through the water softener regeneration unit. All in all, its probably the most critical component in thge appliance.

Difficult to answer exactly. Legally, they’re only allowed to put made in “EC” on appliances these days. However, with regards to Bosch the cheaper “base” models will be Spanish; the higher spec machines will be German.

I have seen Bosch appliances in Comet where the German models do have “Made in Germany” stickers added on the front panel.

Best bet would be to find one you like the look of and post the model number up here – someone will know where it comes from!

He doesn’t seem to know too much – posted on a Bosch fridge post – and got it wrong….. Got the Whirlpool d/w one right though – I just don’t know.

    OK John,
The interlock has probably failed – not an uncommon problem. If you contact spares@ukwhitegoods.com you will be able to source a replacement. Not TOO dear from memory and this is a decent appliance.

A general listing is not available Andy – if you can tell us your specific problem we can probably advise. Also type “DI67” into the search facility – we have had a few of these recently.

    Easyfozz,
If you are a company trained engineer as you suggest in one of your other posts, why on earth are you offering advice like this? UKW offers reasoned and safe advice to the public and where neccessary guides them towards reputable independent repairers.

The enquirer clearly understood that the Beko was at best a cheap and cheerful machine, and followed Eastlmark’s diagnosis and replaced the appliance – the thread came to a stop three weeks ago.

Please do not post in a similar vein or you find the posts will disappear.

When the brushes slip out of the motor, the contact to the armature becomes very poor and will cause the motor to run extremely hot. This can trip the thermal safety, which will shut the motor down.

Remove plug from motor (with the machine unplugged), and test for continuity. The circuits are in pairs from the right hand end of the motor socket. You shoud get about 5 ohms across the armature with the brushes in place.

IIRC, vertical line is “rinse hold”.
