It’s a tank out job. Make diagrams and take pictures – the job is basically straightforward, but very labour intensive. Book a Sunday….

Sorry Steve – nothing. Kind of losing the will to live a bit over the whole thing.

spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly. It’s not a job many people will take on, so the part is not listed in the shop@ facility.

Smokindave wrote:2, I am going to assume that the answer to my first question is it costs a lot, so I assume the spider is a casting, hence why it cracked? Therefore could a fabricated piece of metal be attahed/bolted on to strengthen this part?

The spider usually cracks because the cast webbings of the arms become clagged with old soap. An alkaline reaction then takes place which rots the aluminium alloy. A repair is not usually a practical option.

Check before buying – turn the drum so that each drum paddle in turn is at the six o’clock position. Take hold of the edge of the inner drum and pull towards you firmly. The broken arm will soon reveal itself.

An extreme drum support failure can be seen HERE.

Have you still got records of page reads and stuff active? 5p a page to read and shut the public forums = big bill long term. Might change the grumblers perspective……. 😆

Sorry, Niknik, that’s not right. Catch the light along the top edge of the door inner – it should be etched on the top.

Heater relay fault on pcb. Can be heater and wiring, but it’s usually the pcb.

Power off if you intend to repair this yourself.

    That’s plain weird…. I’d be asking myself,
“Who’s been in here before me?”
