It isn’t open enough that I can slide anything into the drawer.

    Any suggestions?

I can get by without using it by putting detergent in the bowl as I don’t use the pre-wash cycle or use fabric conditioner, but I’d prefer to have it working properly.

    Thanks in advance. 😀

Please keep it all in one thread, it gets compluicated and messy otherwise.

Your problem is that the syphon cover in the drawer has popped up. This is the grid assebmbly in the right hand slot of the drawer. You will need something flexible to wiggle in there and try and push it back down again. A wire coat hanger is a good weapon of choice.

Have a look at the pics in This thread (ignore the last post :rolls: ) before splashing out – if the support is loose on the back of the drum, you’re in trouble.

Otherwise it’s a screwdriver job – make accurate diagrams of where the wiring goes before you start – if you get it wrong, we’re not allowed to help you.

You’ve got a SMEG-built one, and you haven’t got a “logical” fault. A read of this article may prove informative, if not exactly helpful.

What we need is BSH-(The Force is strong in this one)Man……

Our water is very soft up here, but salt is still good, if only a couple of times a year, so I’d rather not bodge it.

Not to mention the fact that this machine belongs to the second biggest property agent account that I’ve got…….

    No pressure then!

Flow meter is at the botom of the fill matrix – there is no pressure switch. Somebody’s putting a lot of faith in their God.

    Re: Ancient Gaggenau Dishwasher……

I think it pre-dates the SMS and early 78 machines – the filters are all wrong, although the spray arm set-up seems similar.

Seems a pity to give up on it because of a salt cap (The glasses were white with the salt leeching back into the machine).

A read of the Forum Rules (which nobody ever does……. 👿 ) will reveal that I’m not allowed to tell you this. However, as you are the owner of the last one left, I’ll make an exception as I have a certain horrified fondness for the old brutes. Have you done the drum bearings yet?

Re: Diplomat APM 8552 Faulty timer ?

The timer is never faulty, it’s always the PCB. The timer locks the door and then acts as a programme indicator – all the work is done by the computer. The timer will only move when the computer tells it to.

The only other thing which would slow the programme time down is heat or lack thereof – it’ll spend a lot of time waiting for the water to warm up before giving up and carrying on.

Oh – or syphoning, that’ll do it – constant water loss, so never reaches temperature. You’d hear the water valves operating repeatedly though.
