I’d check your third party liabilty insurance very carefully before getting into that sort of stuff. Mine says “household appliances only”. When I checked with them, I’m not covered for minor plumbing or electrical work.

Actually, it’s not that bad. The PCB is p/no 4812 218 38209. My tech disc suggests about £75, BUT, it is 2 years old, so there has almost inevitably been a price increase. Contact spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk with the part number for current prices and ordering.

Be very sure that this is what you need – it won’t be a returnable part. You should check under the dishwasher for leaks and burnt wiring, as well as continuity through the heater first.

Stay safe, power off if working on the machine.

Sounds like a classic pcb corruption issue to me. Likely to be very expensive. If you post up the 12nc number (The one that starts with 8), I can identify the part number for you.

It’s a SMEG and that sounds like a classic corruption issue. Mains suppressor and dodgy dispenser solenoid are both suspects, as is the pcb itself.

It’s Chinese, so the Haier codes will apply. Doesn’t follow that they’re accurate, though.

Bottom of the rear panel on the drum. You’re looking for 25ohms(ish) on your test meter.

    Stay safe, power off first.

If it thinks it’s full, it turns the heater on. The thermal fuse will blow within seconds. All down to the water level control system.
