Nope, circulation pressure. If the filters were badly blocked, it would strangle the flow of water into the circulation pump. The machine detects adequate water flow by the high pressure switch being activated.

I’m afraid it looks like the usual Chinese rubbish – the lights suggest that the machine has not drained out the water in the time allowed.

You may have a blockage or a pump failure. Always worth checking the sink coupling as well.

Power off if you’re doing this yourself.

You probably need to drain the tray under the the machine as well – there is a flood protection system in there. If it resets, the lights may come back on.

Try that first and report back.

    Power off first, please.

The door latch in these SMEG-built machines is crucial to the ability to programme it or not. If the latch is still in the closed position after the door is opened, you will not be able to re-programme it.

If you look into the slot where the door latch is located, you should see a pair of small plastic “tongues” looking back at you. If the slot appears to be blocked by a vertical plastic bar, the latch is still in the closed position and therefore locking the computer out.

Sorry for the delayed reply, it’s been a chaotic week.

Look, try and keep this simple – your problem is that the machine is not detecting what it considers to be a high enough flow of water. If the machine does not over-fill and flood, the pressure switch is working, so ignore it. You say that you have cured this problem by pouring boiling water into the machine before now, so I would suggest that the culprit is almost certainly the secondary pressure switch, which is a higher pressure device mounted in the outlet hose of the circulation pump, between the pump and the floor of the wash cavity. It’s a real cow to access…….. It may be gunged up (Speak firmly to the senior dishwasher operative; the machine is a dishwasher, not a waste disposal unit.), or it may have failed. Gunge is easy – strip and clean thoroughly.

The switch is just that – a make and break switch, operated by a pressure diaphragm. If you have the lungs of a trombone player, you can check function with a basic multimeter.

Stay safe – power off before handling anything.

I can see a horrible scenario when the marketing bods wake up to it. Some budget manufacturer will be promoting their product as

“Having the lowest re-cycling footprint on the market”.

That’s GREEN, isn’t it? Despite the fact that the hapless customer will get through 4 or 5 of the accursed things before an ISE10 even comes out of its warranty.

Laughable, just laughable, although it really isn’t funny.

Re: cooker blew circuit breaker and now cooling fan wont shu

    You’ve picked a good one here…..

The stat on top of the fan ducting is a cut-out to shut the grill down in the event of an overheat. There are two cut-in thermostats – one on the side of the fan ducting and one on the back of the bottom oven casing, which, together or separately, will run the cooling fan. The fan circuitry is linked to the selector switch mechanisms in front of both the top and bottom ovens.

You will need a test meter to chase this one down properly.

Good luck; stay safe, power off first.

It’ll be a timer fault, Mike. The machine is so basic that it assumes a water temperature of 15c coming in and heats against time. Yours will be skipping through. Given its age and limited parts availability, I’d let this one go………

    Chris.
