Make sure you “advise” your 10 best trade friends of the address……. They network too.

I have a Mr Clatworthy down in Arthrington who just can’t find any local tradesmen who’ll do stuff for him. :innocent:

    Funny, that.

Re: whirlpool awm 323 not running

Obvious question – does the door actually lock? If it does, the lock is not the problem.

These machine perform a “self check” on start up. If the motor or the pump specifically are out of circuit, it won’t go. Motor brushes is the common one quoted on these forums, but wiring issues are common. Pump wires break at the connector block and motor wires break in the support across the front of the tub and occasionally in the motor plug.

Stay safe, power off first, please.

No. It’s easier to remove the lower front panel and look in from the front.

Power off for anything other than observation.

Once you’ve got the door seal changed, buy some of THIS STUFF. It’s the equivalent fo an atomic bomb for washing machines.

    Re: indesit or hotpoint?

They’re both essentially the same machine, and they are both essentially cheap unreliable tat.

Put ‘indesit AND electronics’ into the Search facilty and select for this forum only. There’s a good afternoons-worth of reading there.

If you deleted the username, he can re-register. If we just disable the account (see post above), he’s screwed.

    Re: Water in new dishwasher?

Once a dishwasher has been filled for the first time, it is just about impossible to empty it completely – there will always be some residual water in it. A good hot wash will purge any stale water and you can use it in the full confidence that it’s clean.

Look at it as buying a new car with 5 miles on the clock instead of 1, ‘cos it’s been once round the test track.

    Good luck with it,

Re: Bosch Dishwasher Check Water Light problem

    Hi, Sanjeev.

The initial part of any programme is to run the drain pump for approximately one minute. It should then start the fill sequence and you should hear water running into the machine, before the circulation pump cuts in.

Things to check are (obviously) that the water is actually turned on and that the fill hose is not trapped or kinked. Assuming that this side of things is OK, you may well be looking at the classic sludging problem with Bosch machines. You need to remove the lid and the left hand side panel for access – with the power off, first. You should see something like this:

The hose which exits bottom right of the matrix is prone to filling with all sorts of muck and goo. If it’s choked, the flood protection system will kick in and activate the “Check Water” light. Pulling it out and giving it a good clean will often sort all sorts of problems.

It is also possible that the inlet valve has failed. To check this you will need an electrical test meter to perform a resistance check of the solenoid coil – it should give an approximate reading of 3.5kOhms.

Stay safe – power off for anything other than observation.
