    Cheer up – the motor’s nearly £200.

That’s BSH’s list price, including VAT – wholesalers will charge a bit less. I really would get a meggar on that motor first………

    The Article on carbon brushes.

If the electronics think the motor’s not there, not much will happen.

You need Kens’ profit and loss calculator. Once you get over the shock of what you have to do to run your business at a profit, you can do the plan. Can’t find the damn thing though…..

    Re: Bosch Module Blown

Motors (especially after brush changes) and door locks are always blowing the boards. Assuming that this is a Bosch with the all-in-one board in the facia panel. Model numbers do help.

Lock jammed. Time for one of THESE.

Power off and break it from the inside to release.

Switch it off at the socket. If it unlocks, it’s either still full of water or the computer is having a wobbly.

On the surface of it, it’s quite straightforward. Two wires, two hoses, two screws. Lay the machine on it’s left hand side, remove the base panel and it’s all laid out for you.

The catch is the hose clips. These are a “crimp” type and are no longer included with the new motor, so you have to re-use them. You’re going to be looking at something very like this:

Question, as we’re now into tomorrow. 33 “members” listed, yet yesterdays membership shows as 55 on the front page? DC has deleted 2, I haven’t deleted any, don’t know about anybody else. Any significance or just another quirk?

Greased lightning, usually. Dave on spares@ is extremely efficient. He’s also bigger than me, so I have to say that. If you order now, it’ll be despatched on Monday, so delivery allowing, you’ll be working properly by mid-week.
