    Totally gratuitous bump.

It’s been a bad day – battery cooked itself in the van and looks like it’s done the alternator as well.

    Just wanted to share………

If it’s a £2 part and a 2 second push on fit, just do it and have a gentle word.

We’re supposed to be building a “different type” of brand here – a little good will goes a long way.

Well, it is a Chink after all. Door latch’ll be next, followed by the flooding problems and the heater safety – she could turn out to be your new best friend.

Do you really want a new best friend? I know I don’t. 😀

Yup, heater knackered. You’ll need p/no 496153 – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to get you one promptly if you wish.

“Bit of a pain to replace” is a huge understatement. The cavity has to be removed from the plastic base, this involves taking the door off as well….. I’ve got it down to a bit over an hour now; as it’s your first go, I’d reserve Sunday afternoon.

    25-30 ohms would be normal.

Proving you’ve got all the fluff out of it, I’d replace the element and leave the rest well alone.

    Element is HERE.

Re: Whirlpool Dishwasher DWF B10 – light flashes 4 times

As you surmised four flashes is no drain detected in the time allowed. You state that the machine has stopped full if water, therefore the water indicator (pressure switch) is unlikely to be at fault as it will be holding in the full position due to the weight of water.

A blockage or drain pump failure is more likely. Check sink coupling first (easy). Bail all water out of the machine, then remove the decor door, lower front cover plate and the plug. Drain pump is at the front and is a twist fit to remove.

Bearing kit is HERE and hardly expensive.

However, if the drum shaft is damaged, you will need 720090100 drum and shaft at a cost of £80+, plus the VAT.

Well done. We do keep telling people that error codes are not a magic bullet and that observation and common sense can just as useful.

You should have got 426143 – 12v proportional valve if you wish to ensure continued function of the machine.

The OOB switch assembly is 426457. It’s worth considering replacement at some point soon as the corrosion problem never quite goes away once it starts.

Re: Whirlpool AWM 321 – leaking

Pull the hose off the tub and smear the sealant round the flange before refitting. Long term, replacing the hose may be a better option as the replacement has a larger sealing flange and is less prone to leakage.

P/no 4812 530 48143, spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly if you wish to replace.
