So what if I tried different programs, I thought. After experimentation my conclusion is that there is probably a malfunctioning sensor somewhere. My normal program for this machine was the “6th sense progam” number 1. Tried others and so far they all seem ok. Could be just luck but if anyone else has this problem with a similar machine, then try the “normal program ” number 6. So far, working for me…

Just in case you get to read this, I have exactly the same problem but without the error codes bit. Did you ever solve the problem? Thanks.

Yes, there are no lights on at all when it fails. I did replace the control board a while ago when part of it suffered a burn out. The machine was fine for a few weeks before this fault started. I will try switching off at the wall for a few days and see what happens. Is there a way of getting any fault codes up on this variant of machine with a fault finding run? The instuctions with the appliance note some codes but no way of running a test.

Thanks for the reply. This is a integrated machine with the controls hidden. I don’t switch the machine off at the wall, it is permanently on. If I were to press the program button it will go off in about 15 seconds and if I don’t press the arrow “start” button within that time, then that goes off in about 3 seconds. This is normal according to the very limited guide that came with the machine. Do you think that turning the power off to the machine completely between each use may help?

Thanks. I will bear this in mind, should there be further problems.

Finally got it repaired. Diagnosed as fan not operating. After being told by various people that the fans were very reliable, the repairman changed boards and sensors as he didn’t carry the fans as they were so reliable…..needless to say it was the fan….

Re: John Lewis/Aeg Frost free Freezer

Ok, I’ve left the freezer off with the door open for a couple of hours, and then switched it back on. The compressor pipe gets a bit colder; the cooler unit at the top appears to be getting cold ,but no still fan to distribute the air. Is there any way the fan can be easily accessed? Does the fan ever seize up with ice? What sensors control the fan? So many questions, so little time to save the food…

    Re: scandinova getting noisier

Answer spot on. Job done. Used a hair dryer through slot at bottom to speed things up. Hope not to have caused any damage. Thanks for your help. 😀
