Did not mean to be sarcastic or nasty in any way mate as you can see from my quote, I meant no offence just curious how long he’d been an engineer !

My job would be sooo easy without them
SteveWithout these “MORONS” as you put it – We’d all be out of a job !

P&G phoned me and offered to come by my place and give an up-date to ‘detergent technology’ so I’m up for it. 😉We had the bloke from P&G round our shop last month and we all found the training very interesting.
You get the run down of how washing/dishwashing detergent actually works in the machine. This was all new to me and I hadn’t realised what a complicated bit of kit washing detergent is!
Then there was the usual lecture on what detergent to use for what clothes; a reminder to always follow the washing label; and example garments to show what happens when the label isn’t followed.
We got given booklets with all the info from the training, a few boxes of liqui-tabs and some Ariel pens 😉
It’s only lasts 40 minutes, it is informative and free. I’d say go for it.
Sorry mate but how long have you been a white goods engineer? …
…and you never knew about the enzymes etc only becoming active above 40 Deg or surfactants & the use of rinse aid or salt (don’t know why they bother with salt when the correct use of a filled softener unit softens the water anyhoo) in dishwasher detergents ???

Yes, mate as I mentioned to you earlier on the phone – It’s an odd one did you check the pressure hose – are you absolutely sure it wasn’t blocked by crap ? Otherwise it could be a dodgy pressure switch

Just at the point where you are carefully listening to hear if the pump is working on her machine…. she turns on the kettle and the noise drowns out everything for 5 minutes or more until the kettle boils and switches off!
Then you have to move your toolbox so she can get the milk out of the fridge, you then block her access to the cupboard where the teabags are kept………..and so on………after which time you wished you had said “yes” to a cup of tea all along then just sat back for 15 minutes reading the paper or maybe go in her front room and watched the telly instead !!!!
MartinThat’s exactly what happened to me today – I’m so glad Im not the only one this happens too !

ParticipantRe: The strangest thing you can find in a blocked pump
I remember clearing a pump wich was stubborn enough at the time due to scale & crap so you know got my hands well & truly into it – Only to be told afterwards that the ladies husband was incontinent & she had just washed the soiled (sh*tty) sheets when the pump got blocked – I felt like bleaching my hands !!!

Aahhhhhhh, It’s all becoming clear now – I didn’t realise Smeg were involved with Gorenje – No wonder they dropped them then 😈
Speaks volumes 😉

ParticipantRe: BSH fixing Gias
Sadly when BSH took on Tecnik we were only given a small tech brief about them & told to get on with it 👿 but never shown how to do a tub change – so when one came up approx 2 yrs later I obviously tried to BER it, BUT was told by the powers that be “…that BSH are a repair company” & to quote said powers “…we don’t write appliances off” – Now just for the record I don’t have an axe to grind & I’m not slateing BSH off as I enjoyed my time & experiance with them but you DO have to question their judgement some times, I mean 2 man job with 3 YES 3 hours time to do it cost the cust a nice tidy sum (…as it turned out we done it in 2 hrs & the cust only paid for labour, but even so !)
Thank your lucky stars that you haven’t had the pleasure of doing a tub change on them. 😉
Still, now you have the pleasure of doing Hoover tub changes instead 😛
PS:Have BSH dropped Gorenje & if they have why? 😯 their fridge freezers were GVFM.Redflame
ParticipantRe: BSH fixing Gias
As an Ex BSH man myself & working for a large leading (cough lol) repair company doing almost every appliance known to man – I’m very glad I left BSH if they are taking on GIAS, It was bad enough doing a tecnik washer/dryer tub change.
Good luck you are gonna need it !!! Oh i can almost hear the knocking of the front weights now !!! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE 😆 -
