ParticipantI think I’m probably confusing things here, 13kg would be ample but I’ve a feeling the drum is going to be smaller physically than my 10kg machine.

ParticipantThanks I have read that in the past, unfortunately I need a larger size appliance for dogs beds etc, squeezing them into a smaller drum means they do not wash as well.

Confused as the guide says there are 2 sensors to replace? Both look the same?

Ok bit of an update… parts came today but before we proceed with taking them out the packet wanted to check its worth doing as might as well return the parts if they not gonna be any good.
Took the back cover off the freezer after I noticed a fair bit of ice build up on the floor of the freezer, the drain is blocked with ice so doesn’t like the defrost is working properly but the coil was relatively clear. Frosting is at the top only of the evaporator coil only. I note though that only the first half is really cold the rest started getting condensation with the cover off. To note also that the other day the freezer started thawing out so we had to leave it off over night to reset it it. The fridge was also getting warm. Since we have put it back on the fridge has not been as cold whereas the fridge was very cold before along with the freezer. The majority of the condensor coil on the back is cool with one side left a couple of inches of it that are hot.The compressor is very very hot but no abnormal noises other than the refrigerant making a noise. See picture and I have also done a video of the sound…

Having the same issue but with a beko cda653fb/1. My thermostat control dial is in the top of the fridge on the roof of it, would the sensor be in here or in the insulation?

I appreciate that a lot can change but these are the Same capacity drum sizes in litres and kg as we discussed the other day. So the outer tub should be ok to take the ise 1606w. Is it possible you could raise the question with Asko for me who will have this information?
Ill be replacing the bearing as well.

Hey there, can anyone help.
The ise 10 1606w is exactly the same drum I expect as the washer I have. The drum capacity is the same and states 50l which is the same as the maytag.
Surely this will fit. It seems maytag don’t supply parts any more for it and I’m getting no where with then. Rediculous on a company that charge £900 for washers designed to last by Asko 25 years and they don’t hold parts for it.
So it seems I’ve to dispose of such an expensive machine. Can anyone help?

UPDATE:
Fridge took overnight to get back down to temp of 3/4C – pulled all the drawers and panels out yesterday to check the evaporator which was clear and dry with no ice build up at all.
HOw often will the defrost cycle work? How does it know when to go on a defrost cycle – what parameters? Its funny how it immediatly went onto a defrost as soon as I plugged it back in even though the probe was warm.
Thank you.

UPDATE:
The sensor was a perfect fit well worth pulling fridge out to fit properly.
Plugged it back in while it was covered in ice… Freezer was reading +19c ad it started a defrost straight away… Within 10 minutes all ice had melted… How does the sensor know to do a defrost when it was at +19c?
Well impressed and well worth the £15 for the part and half an hours work.

Thank you. To save time do I also have to defrost it fully after fitting the new sensor shouldn’t it defrost on its own now? About to do the work now and just wondered and if it won’t defrost by itself then why not? I can see the sensor so getting to it is not a problem.

How do I pull the fridge out? DO I have to take the doors off?

Cool that’s what I have ordered should be here tmrw so I will try to it on my own but will pull it out inside. At end of model number inside fridge it says -1 so is it deffo the 0 I still have as the probe plugs in at the rear? Fitting it on my own.

So u don’t thin this sensor needs replacing cos the bottom of the coil where it would drain out is clear no ice it’s the evaporator that’s solid encased in ice?

ParticipantRe: Name of white probe in freezer unit (Schreiber APM6855)
Thank you.
How do you know it’s producing water? That water that was built up was from me defrosting with a hair dryer. Although when i left it for 24hours it drained on its own. The evaporator was a solid block of ice. The fan works fine I can hear it running.
Can u just explain what is wrong with the defrost sensor and why it isn’t working if u say the heater is ok? When I first moved in we turned the power off by accident to the fridge it was off prob an hour then 4 weeks later frozen up… Previous owners said they had no issue with it.

Thanks for excellent post… When I defrosted last time the water built up inside and didn’t drain away so how do I reposition the heater and where is it?
I hope the heater isn’t faulty.
