ParticipantRe: Hoover module fuse
Hi again. Been doing a bit of research on fuses. Although im not going to replace another one of these the correct fuse type will probably restrict circuit damage.

ParticipantRe: Hoover module fuse
Hi everyone. Just been to one of these. I had read this post previously. I changed the fuse to see what happened. Yes there was a big bang and it blew what someone posted as calling a multi triac, not certain if that’s correct or not.
When the original fuse had blown this hadn’t been damaged, so as mentioned before until we know more my advice is do not replace the fuse.
I relaced the fuse with a glass type time delay fuse. This badly ruptured. I am going to try and buy the ceramic type. Maplin didn’t have.
I didn’t carry out checks on the motor, which I now regret, however if the circuit design is correct this kind of damage shouldn’t occur if the fuse is doing it’s job.
Surely there should be some kind of current limiting in place, the way the fuse ruptured I think there was a large discharge.
I did call our friends at EMW they are still getting their heads around this one apparently.Rograbbit

ParticipantRe: Aqualtis facia board removal
Thanks johnnyj. might have a spare board to try although dont think it’s an induction motor type. Good to hear the board comes out easy anyway! Cheers!
