    Re: work dead

I think Madmac is right. A lot of people just go and buy a new one. They dont even bother to call anyone out to repair it. This is where it’s important to be able to supply, and make sure your customers are aware that you supply new machines.
Lets face it, it’s getting more expensive to repair and quite often another fault is often not far round the corner, which hopefully most of us point out.

Well the way I see it guys is you’ve got to get more into sales. I certainly have and I think it’s the way to go. I buy off a couple of wholesalers one being Portway Domestic Appliances.
The fact that you’re in the house leads you to a sale. There will always be the blocked pumps, door seal changes, recon pcb repairs, but the bearing changes etc aren’t going to be worth it. Sell them a good quality new machine, and 7 to 10 years down the line they buy another one off you.
This is already happening to me. Go for it guys! Wheel in the new ones, you can do it!

Hi Chris. It was only the motor brushes, but cancelling the registered fault was where help was needed and received from Nomad Paul.
So another one to make a note of folks. 🙂

Thank you again Nomad Paul, what would we do without you.
I tested the motor carefully so hopefully I can now get the customer washing again.
    Thank you. 😀

    Re: Hotpoin WF320 not playing

This may not apply but remember installing a new hotpoint machine where the socket outlet was wired up back to front, wouldn’t come on at all.
Probably not applicable to you but an item that is easily checked.

Re: Anyone know how to get into diag on lux int WD no model

Just an update folks. Been out to this one went into diagnostics after the help you all gave me.
E41 was displayed. Changed door lock as I had a good second hand one. Still the same. Checked and disconnected dryer heaters. still the same.
Customer then told me she could press on the door and get it to work!
On closer look at door starting to part/distort slightly near the door latch.Took apart and reassembled, worked alot better but not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.
Have now ordered inner and outer frame and door catch kit.

    Re: Hoover condenser t/d probs.

Be careful if you have to deal with jockey pulleys on Hoover condenser dryers. They have a wide set and a narrow set, not always identified by serial numbers etc.
Always worth mentioning when ordering, I had the wrong ones sent to me.

Thank you very much Chris, especially at this time of night. I think its flashing E40 to the customer, which I believe relates to door lock. Then again need to check earth leakage on everything by the sounds of it!
    Thank you.

    Re: Hoover module fuse

Hi Phil. Thanks for the post. Have you purchased and replaced blown part, after checking/replacing motor? If so have there been any other problems after such a large short? If it’s a motor and complete module then it’s definitely a Hoover job. There wasn’t any damage to the tracks or edge card connectors on mine, which is why I originally popped another fuse in without carrying out too many checks.
    Rog. 😀
