Re: EBAC washing machines launch in the spring

I notice looking at the Ebac range that they are cold fill or hot and cold fill. Would be interesting to find out if the hot pipe can be omitted and the program changed to accept that is the case, or are we going back to the nightmare of ‘y’ or ‘F’ connectors. I may contact them and ask. A hot and cold produced machine may be all about marketing I suppose, to win back customers who are convinced their old machine was more efficient. I still get the blank look sometimes when I try to explain.

That’s well worth knowing for future reference, thought the lot had to be changed, not too expensive either, thanks for that.

I don’t do much at all with refrigeration but I have one of these at home. There has definitely been a modification to these though. I think it involves different defrost heaters and an increased defrost time. I’m sure one or two of the guys on here will have carried out the mod. Let me know if you find out in case mine goes! Been ok so far.

I sell a lot of new appliances these days. Noticed some of the new Bosch serie 4 machines are fitted with ceset motors, a motor I rate, if they are as good as they used to be of course!

Thats good to know Martin. Lets hope they’ve got their own back up in the way of service requirements set up. If they do hit any unexpected problems customers will expect a quick response.

    Re: Oven cleaning kits

The one I sell and use is oven mate. supplied with brush and gloves and the advantage is you can use it on the rest of the oven. The oven pride works well but doesn’t leave a lot left over for cleaning elsewhere. No acrid smells and its made in the UK.

Thanks Martin, so I need to contact Beko? is it a case of you’ve got to spend so much with them, or just a case of proving you are trade?

one thing you may have noticed on the Hoover machines with the short heater at least, is there is no support bracket in the drum for the heater to slide under.
I have also been to several of these machines leaking from the heater and almost popping out, due to the heater moving up and down on spin, and wearing the rubber away at the edges.
Perhaps when this happens the heater is constantly hitting the outer drum breaking down the insulation inside. Not seen any scrape marks from the inner drum amazingly.
I always tighten these heaters more than I actually feel comfortable doing to try and minimize the oscillating.
