Yes you might have to get heater warm to show leakage though.

Thanks for that. Customer hasn’t given me many details, but will go and have a look. Have got a Hotpoint one in stock, would be nice if that would fit, we’ll see. Thanks again.

Just want to back up everything Stratford girl said about RCD’s.
If you are only introducing an extra load in to the circuit, and not creating an out of balance current, they will not trip.

Thanks Jem. I have read a few data sheets and noticed the listings, but was wondering about the Matt finish. Will order and have a go. Don’t know if the chip is some kind of a switch mode power supply, haven’t looked at that yet. Funny I only looked at your post last week and got one to do this week! I see I’ve put 22 watt in the title as well, it should be 22 ohm in case anyone reads it wrong. Thanks again.

    Re: Electrolux EWD1409i diagnostics

Before doing anything on Lux/Zan Washer dryers disconnect dryer heater and test machine. Causes all manner of problems when they go down to earth. Normal procedure for getting in to test mode. Switch off appliance at selector. Press and hold Start/pause button and nearest option button. Holding down both buttons turn selector one position to right (clockwise). Continue to hold buttons until LEDs start to flash. Turning clockwise further will check individual components at each step. Position 10 will read off fault code. If ED4 comes up, this is often the dryer heaters going down to earth, although ED4 doesn’t relate to that fault.
Quite a lot on here regarding this fault.

    Re: Scrap machines, worth anything

My machines are recycled by the company who deliver the new ones for me. However,if no objection from the customer, I do remove the motor, £500 a tonne, the last time I looked, and the mains lead. Those motors soon add up,and the cables for that matter. 😀

There are only 9 digits that’s the full number on this one. Yes any service bulletin or wiring diagram would be useful. There is a small diagram on the back of the fridge, but would prefer not to have to use a magnifying glass!

    Re: creda trc2

Check all you seals and the condenser obviously, but I have seen similar problems in the past when the pours of the filter are blocked, usually soap residue. You may have to give the filter a gentle wash in soapy water. It can be easily missed so thought I’d mention it.
