    Re: Which Smartphone ?

K what all this goes to show is we want different things out of our phones .
Yours obviously works well for you but I would say the average joe will not use most of the features you mention they want a phone to make calls go on tinternet while on the lav .

Maybe email and a few games which most Android phones do just as well or better than Iphone .
I don’t have a few girls in the office who can do a comparison but tech radar or tech guys can’t remember which did a comparison, a phone fight if you like. It was HTC Desire, Iphone and Samsung s in that order .So it really is each to there own. 😉 .
Think I’ll keep my pound notes in my pocket for now and not give them to Steve Jobs. 😆
:offtopic: Laptop or convertable against a Ipad .Come on I would whoop you all day long on spec alone on that one.

    Re: Which Smartphone ?

Ok. I understand what your saying it,s the software you like and the way it interacts with other Apple products.
I carn’t knock the Iphone software it works well but you have to buy the other products ie mac, pad and so on to get the full experiance.
This means when I change my phone I could be spending a few grand to get the experiance your talking of. 😯
You don’t have to be a whizz to sync your email to a Android just type your email and password in once job done. I have no interest in sync calanders and so on as its of no use to me but I’m sure its just as easy.
I can bluetooth or hard conect mine in the car no probs.

Talking of music I can listen to the radio while out walking with mine you carn’t with a Iphone. 😆
Angry birds , bet you have to pay for that as well. 😆

Still dont see the point of Ipad would be better of with one of them small flip round laptops that double as a pad. :stir:

Ken I am very happy you like your new phone and you are right Apple products work very well. But personally I don’t want to be sucked into the Apple cartel.
It’s fine if you dont mind paying twice the price for everything but what really are you getting.

Speed. HTC Desire HD and iphone both run on a 1 ghz processer . Infact Desire come out slightly on top in a speed test.
HTC 8 meg cam Iphone 5meg.
    HTC 4.3″ screen Iphone 3.5″
You also talk about the app store being rubbish. Music free on android you have to pay for most of it on itunes its just a closed shop.
Then you go onto compare the Ipad and tabs for some reason, don’t really know why as we are talking about phones, but as you brought it up. Why would anyone with a sound mind spend 500 quid on one. 😉

Cable tie the two hoops first because there a swine to fit. It will take a few goes to get it to lock together but the cable ties hold it in place while you have a play at fitting it. Tilt it back 45deg to give yourself more room.

Scam or not I wouldn’t get involved .
There isn’t many a day that goes by whithout someone trying to sell me advertising of some sort, and its usually when i’ve got my head under a machine. grrrrrr
I would never buy advertising of a cold caller .I target my budget at where I think its effective ,not where they tell me.

Re: Hacked Off About Internet Pricing?

I agree with what you say Mr K but and its a big but. your looking at it from a retailers point of view.
As you said there are many variations of retailers so we have to cut it down to the brass tacks of Online and store.
Imagine if you owned Indesit and Currys said they are no longer going to display Indesit products only have them as a online item . This would certainly devalue the product and sales.

So I think its in Indesits interest to be able to keep store products on display for good advertising and to keep the brand credible.
Obviously the waters get a little merky when you have jo blogs selling out of his front room in the day and his bedroom at night but I’m sure the product companys involved would only offer discount on what they feel they are getting value for mony for.
Sorry I have no Evidence to back any of this up. 😆 😉

Re: Hacked Off About Internet Pricing?

After just reading all the posts on this subject ( which I found very interesting) I have come to the decision that I agree with dill on this.
The reason being that he has to physically display his product costing him money .
The problem with the online side of things is you can have small retailers trading out of there spare bedroom beating dill on price ,now this carn’t be fair.
I do appreciate ken that you have larger overheads than a spare bedroom but I’m sure you can see how your posistion could be abused,

It kills me to agree with dill cos he gets on my tits, but he should be given freedom of speech not censered coments……
    nah scrub that BAN HIM…,

    Re: Which Smartphone ?

I’ve had another look on the market and all the apps record by turning your mic on which is not ideal for me .So I digged a bit deeper and come across xda developers site where they claim to of cracked it but they started talking about kernals and firmware adjustments it got to deep for me .
So for now I dont think its possible for the average joe.

From what I read it seems a common problem Iphone included and the reason seems to be because it is ilegal to record a call in certain countries.
I would like to know if anyone does have this function on a smart phone.
