BryanBryan, It was a rhetorical question.
I had worked out that if someone took the initiative regards Leibherr, then it stands to reason other doors would be knocked upon.
I guess this is one of the benefits of being in the WTA that being affected one way or another collectively the presence can be felt.
I’m sure that most of us would like to continue with carrying out the service work, and this is where networking kicks in. Not only to see the work come back in, but to ensure it doesn’t go to another unstable management organisation. After all, we would still be the ones doing the work, unless of course goes to the likes of British gas.

You read in here all about one of the competitors of ISDAL who also happen to be based in Yorkshire yet conversely they are still going.
Then we get the vibes that they may well benefit from the fall-out.
ISDAL though, they have often been looked at as the “gentlemen” of work providers, yet are the ones that go to the wall.
In all probability though due to being sucked under as a whole, meaning Hi-Group rather than ISDAL as a separate entity.
Apart from Liebherr (Sterling work there by our WTA incidentally) What is happening with regards to the likes of LGE, Gorenje, CATA etc? Someone somewhere should be picking up the pieces. Connect parted company with LGE some time ago. Surely they are not getting back together are they? Unless these contracts goes to JTM, which will send a shudder down a few spines.

Yes was my answer, but not for you i dont.!THANKS again uk white goods forum for saving me the aggro,
canufixit 😀Well done! I see the guy metaphorically put the ball under his arm, stamped his feet, said “I’m going home” Then he stormed off the playing field.
Anyways, I speak to a Comet senior bod who tells me never heard of Golocal Reactive, and assumes he has picked up work from elsewhere that might have gone to Comet on a chargeable or pay & claim basis.
Think about it guys, manufacturers work back to the manufacturers. D&G by the current D&G network or manufactuers agents. Comet ins staying in house until the bitter end, and may well go to Connect. Comet didn’t encourage chargeable at all, and it wasn’t that easy for engineers in the field to take payment.
Reminds me of another who set up an agency recently,(Julian Radley)took the money from the insurance people, then closed his company without paying the agents.
I hope no desperate Connect agents fall into this trap.

Where do we start? From what I can see much about the same as before. Written by a jobsworth who simply hasn’t got a clue.
Unworkable, unrealistic as well as open to abuse.
When will these organisations learn that working with us instead of against us will create harmony and better results.
I wonder how they expect a mark-up of 15{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} can cover the possibility of component failure.
Some time ago an employee of D&G moved over to Connect, and managed to upset everybody. (Since moved into obscurity) I don’t suppose there are any more in Wimbledon who read the same manual.

DrDill wrote:We have been dumped too, but no great loss as we were not doing much in the end for them, but no loyalty, we did 10,000 odd jobs for them, started in august 2004 after supporting them after they bombed NESN out, in the last 18 months we only did about 20 jobs a week on average because we dropped lots of calls for low rates.
Was it something you said? 😉
It is a bit undemocratic though if you are taken off the system for either speaking your mind, or even having the nerve to say what others are probably thinking.
Surprised there are only the two so far. Rumour has it the new incumbent (David Boden) at Connect has a cunning plan to remove smaller agents and concentrate on super agents, all well and good if they have the work I suppose.
I assume the calls still on the system can be cleared off O.K. but if you haven’t had notification, how do you know the finalisation procedure. Looks like someone has reacted without giving it much thought.
Encouraging though if Mr Parker is looking into this, obviously a man of principle.

ParticipantRe: DSG/RepairCare Rate Cuts
Connect are saying Dixons Retail are going to build their own set up. The new organisation starts in May 2012. This is supposed to happen on a brand by brand basis (whatever that means)
Go back into history & I saw this coming a few years back when DSG built a distribution and call centre just outside of Newark.
Connect/Repaircare will be second tier to this new process. So in essence the work will gradually decrease as it goes along.
There is a hope of some of the fall-out from Comet. The manufacturers’ warranty service will probably go back to the appropriate manufacturers. The insurance and unique to Comet makes are out for tender and British Gas are in for a shout.
Any Comet work through Connect will be as a Comet Temporary account. No stability there then.
Connect are suggesting their agents who keep their noses clean may benefit long term. Bit like saying when they reduced rates, “Don’t worry lads all will be o.k. in the end”

ParticipantRe: Independent Service
One thing they are good at is upsetting their agents, thinking about it, perhaps the only thing.
Their support is rubbish, they deal with rubbish makers who have the worst technical back up,and longest delays on parts, then they manage to get the repairers backs up by expecting them to make up their own failures.
Best thing they should have done is go back to those that apparently have such high demands and get them to put their houses in order. Even better if ISDAL got their house in order first.
I’m sure that in view of all the above, plus payment delays the e-mail has not been well received at all.
What planet are they on?

ParticipantRe: Independent Service
Here’s food for thought.
If they are operating a new bank account, (as they tell us) then surely all agents would have been notified as such so they could pay their bills into said new account. Can you see the scepticism creeping in?
If they still have the old account details, then it must still be active, with money in it, then ISDAL still have a means to pay out to the agents.

The prenentation as at the bottom of the list. – British Gas – What’s that all about then?
Looking for more engineers, looking for more opportunities to exploit, to apologise to the previous agents who had the work removed overnight. Or being positive, have they accepted we are still here? I recall once uopn a time if a Brit Gas engineer so much as looked into this site, it was disciplinary time.
That said though, time to settle differences perhaps and move on.
Are we to expect Candy/Hoover, JTM, DASA and Beko to add their names.

In any case everyone can see what is going on quite clearly now I feel but there may be more to come.
At least you say “Some people” If there are DASA councillors thart disagreed with this, they may well stand down. There again surely they have to abide by the democratic decision? Do we actually know the outcome of the DASA council and whether in fact the issue has indeed actually been resolved?

Which is what I am trying to say.
The issue as far as I can see is a hefty bit of misrepresentation on the part of 0800.com and on more than one count.
Therefore it is up the the governing body of DASA, the council or whatever to ensure this is put right.
Perhaps it needs to be made clear who is breaking any agreement here and is flouting thier membership of DASA.
Looking at the DASA website, there is a meeting 25th August at Peterborough. Surely this ought to be a matter for thier aganda?

Least of all a big outfit like the Pacifica Group for fear of any potential court action citing liable or even defamatory statements. I still wonder what the point is in all this, really I do. :rolls:
You have a direct involvement with the WTA and are on their committee. As far as I’m aware you also have no direct connection with DASA, 0800 or JTM. And the casual observer to all this would therefore conclude a certain degree of mud-slinging is going on here…..or maybe I’m wrong again…dunno. 😕
Look I get the point, but Martin is spot on with his post.
Ade may not be talking on behalf of the WTA, but he is conveying the wrong impression and it isn’t doing the WTA any good.
It has been stated & reiterated in this thread the DASA verbal response, which seemed to have been accepted on the outset. If during the converation Ade had begged to differ, then that I hope was made plain at the time, and the representative of DASA was duly informed as such. If not then the subsequent which-hunt regards this affair has been carried out in an inappropriate manner, and will not achieve anything. Apart from labelling the WTA as a bunch of subversives.
I know you guys are beyond that, and that the issue revolves around 0800.com of Pacifica, or JTM. However, I don’t think the way this campaign has progressed will do the WTA any favours.
To be a respectful organisation and to curry such respect means working in a respecful manner.
Furthermore, maybe it is an idea for a representative of the WTA to make an appearance at the next DASA council meeting, and by doing so get the point across. A written response from DASA is unlikely as it will be ripped apart in the same manner this thread has.

Well said!
Also he (KW) is the same person who made specific changes over the last week to this site, (being OUR site) and by default the new format puts Dr Dill down as “Valued Contributor” under his avatar.
So perhaps the good doctor could improve his bedside manner, or adopt the maxim “physician, heal thyself”

I picked up a rumour that they were shutting up shop on 14th Feb.
Anyone know any more on this?
