Thanks for that advice. Took 4 more attempts before I could get hold of the tiny piece of glass that was stuck under the impellor using tweezers.

    Now working again. 😀

    Re: Zanussi ZWF 12070W1 – bearings going/gone?

Received a reply from Zanussi which after further prodding resulted in an offer of 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of part costs but they wanted me to pay the other 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} plus the associated call out and labour costs to repair. This was not good enough for me. I want to make a claim against them which will need a written estimate from a qualified repair engineer about the fault on the machine/cost to repair it. Is there anyone in the Newcastle Upon Tyne area who would be able to do this?

    Thanks

    The Beko… jury’s out.

The Liebherr, very, very good but not cheap.

Just jumping on this thread as we’re looking at getting an american style f/f. We had seen the LGGWB 207FLQA which seeme dto get some good reviews but we’ve just seen a Siemens KA58NA40 which is on offer.

Are either of these any good?

    Thanks for your comments.

I was just asking from the point of view of you guys as you’ll see all makes of machine and be able to say what is better made

I know what you mean about this being related to purchase cost. Prior to this Zanussi we had a Hoover which lasted for 13 years, and it was only in the last couple of years it started playing up with relatively minor parts going until the circuit board needed replacing. The Hoover engineer at the time said that they ain’t made like that any more and more or less said avoid a Candy/Hoover.

We’ve had a response from Zanussi asking for the info I’d already given them – to be honest we were looking at a Siemens in a sale at the weekend and think we’ll plump for that

Go for a Bosch or a Siemens machine, you will need to allow a budget of £350 to £450. No sealed drums either 😉

I read somewhere that Bosch machines now made in same factory alongside Beko?

    Re: Zanussi ZWF 12070W1 – bearings going/gone?

Have done that but have to say that I’m not sure I’d want it repaired or another Zanussi to be honest.

From what I’ve read most machines seem to be made in a factory and then badged as one of three or four makes. How do you make sure you get a reliable machine these days? What brands would people recommend?

Am I safe to assume it’s probably not worth repairing?

On checking it appears its £167 for a whole new drum assembly

Have had a look and can see no bolts. The seam is welded :rolls: 🙁

It makes a rumbling type of sound when turned by hand.

There’s definitely up and down play – I’m guessing about 3-4mm

Pump arrived – super quick delivery from WhiteGoods

Waited until today to fit it.

Thanks for your instructions – fitting was really straightforward as a result.

Have just run machine through full cycle and it worked perfectly

    Thanks very much 😀 😀

Re: Bosch SGS3062GB/02 makes strange noise&does not drai

OK After baling the water out of the bottom of the machine I’ve checked the drain hose and connection to sink. It was clear.

I’ve also cleaned out the matrix as it had some “gunk” in the very top of it.

I then checked the pump impellor after removing the cover– there was no obstruction in it. I then tried disconnecting the grey drain hose, sticking the end of that hose into a 2 gallon bucket, and pouring water manually directly into the tub, shutting the door and starting the machine off. The machine didn’t clear so after baling it out again, I then tried it again but with the black rubber non-return valve removed which was located adjacent to the impellor of the drain pump

The machine still did not drain so I’m assuming it will need a new pump!

After looking at the machine I can’t see how to get at the pump as tipping over doesn’t seem to allow you to get at it from the bottom.

I’d appreciate some advice – I’ve always got the answer from you guys when I’ve had other problems so can you help

Re: Bosch SGS 3062GB/02 detergent compartment does not stay

Cheers for that – I tried the side where resistance seemed less – the end of the string had become detached from the cam on the end of the hinge. Hooked it back on ensuring stirng was in roller and door closure felt much better. Checked other side to be sure – it was OK. Machine back and working again.

Many thanks for all the help from everyone

Thanks for all the help. Machine has now run through a whole cycle successfully.

Don’t know whether it’s imagination but door does not close as quickly on spring tension as it used to, it seems to need a little bit of help until it’s just past the half way point – checked and the spring retainers are fully home and secure.

Thats one hell of a job to replace the spring behind the dispenser lid!!

My fault – I got carried away with the screws and released the hinges. 😳 😳

If only the front white panel is released it’s a relatively quick job
