    Maltheviking..

thanks for the information. My husband tested the 13amp fuse from the wall switch that it is hardwired into with the multimeter NOT the dishwasher itself.

He is an electronic / test engineer so he knows that we have a serious safety fault because of it tripping the mains.

Since it went the full pre rinse cycle without incident then we are looking at a heater right ?

Because of where we live I am struggling trying to get anyone out here. Also I am being told that “independant ” engineers are struggling to get the parts for MFI / HOwden appliances. That they couple of companies that took over the service /parts for MFI are charging and arm and a leg for parts and service.. well £100 call is fits in that category nicely.

ok I have run the prerinse and it went the 15 minutes with out stopping or cutting the main breaker out.

No leaks and it drained out.. yippee…

so heater right ? or still possible it is the electronics board ?

    Thank you for the reply.

I will do the checks you mentioned. There is only a prerinse that doesn’t use heat.

The third time we tried it Ithink it went for about 15 minutes and then cause the breaker to flip off.

Checked the front already when looking for the sump and there are not any leaks.

I don’t know about draining because all the water remained in the dishwasher when it cut out so we had to hand remove the water. YUCK

if it was down to cheap glassware surely they would have imploded long before this, wouldn’t they ?

These have been going through the dishwasher for years.

What is the easiest way to check wash water temp btw ?

Definitely full blown cracks inside the glass.. not etching at all.

Believe me I know the difference.

    HI

thank you again for your time and help

    😀

I had forgotten about the lateral movement.. I think it did have lateral months ago but decided to give it another go. Now I have had to do this so many times I am just fed up with it and had hubby move it out and put the other one in.

I will go check the lateral movement tomorrow to make sure that it is indeed there.

The ball was checked and it was fine and nothing in there…

    Thanks again

    Hi,

The information is from the manual. Also it was discussed months ago when I asked about it then.

    never mind…

see we don’t have a knob on the actual selector .. just a metal rod sticking out. I thought ah what if I push it..

    and YES that was it…

    oh yikes that is gross…

mine doesn’t small like a dead animal.. it literally smells like rancid wet clothes.

You know, wash something, hang it in the house during winter or something, it doesn’t dry quick enough and smells rancid when it eventually does.
