    Re: Bosch fridge freezer

Thanks all, especially Sparkey and Wizard, for your valuable help. Mod worked a treat. Customer has just rung to say fridge/freezer is staying cold. For the colours on this fridge freezer with three pin plug, dark brown wire was cut (pin2) and joined to blue, light blue and black(pin 1) at crimp connector. Cut dark brown wire was then insulated coming out of sensor.

    Re: Bosch fridge freezer

Judging by the mod sensor is taken out of circuit. Does the fridge still go into defrost i.e. any comebacks on repairs?

Looking at the fan it is not central within the new element as if the element has gone egg shaped. There is not much clearance and the blades catch on the formers to hold the element in shape. Tried moving the fan motor 1 mm to the left within the bolt holes in the oven which worked for about a week. Have ordered new element but have had to pay for it again(£42.30)and will return old & hopefully will get a refund. I just wanted to see if this element was the correct one.
Oh and Caremark have lost my order.
    Thaks anyway
    Simon.

    Re: Hotpoint RF61P Unusual T’Stat

Are we talking about continuous ice buildup on the evaporator? Had this recently with a kelvinator fridge freezer after fitting VT9 stat. Fitted a RF61 stat no problems since. Does this mean the +3.5degrees defrost on the ranco was not correct? Ice cannot exist at this temp so in theory the stat should not be able to switch on the compressor until water is seen.

    Re: Hotpoint Mistral 8496p

Went to great expense once to buy a module when i first started repairing these. In the end the evaporator sensor was giving incorrect resistance causing fan not to run(thinks evaporator not cold enough so fan will not kick in threfore not blowing cold air into fridge). If you unplug mains lead open door and then switch on again, test mode will be entered and fan runs briefly for 3 seconds proving fan motor is ok. I now replace both sensors one green plug and one yellow plug.

    Hi Benjamin
Are the grey specs the same colour as the doorseal and is the machine getting loud on the spin?

    Re: IWMS cleaning

Thanks. Have spent a few days reading posts. Good site!
Have managed to clean mould layered with fat by soaking for two days in bleach then connecting flexible pressure tubing to shower hose and routing it into IWMS. With a combination of hot water and shaking little screws into affected area have managed to break up the blockage. Not an easy job! If i can’t do this and have to replace parts customer is going to comet shopping.

I find that if the relay contacts start arcing internally and get hot pin desolders itself from board. Only guaranteed cure is replacement module.
