ParticipantRe: John Lewis condenser drier with heat pump
Only pulling your leg Ken 😀 You’re dead right about forfeiting future revenues if we shy away from new technologies.
I’m sure as Martin says, the significant energy savings will make HP driers popular, just a shame about the downsides.simtoms
ParticipantRe: John Lewis condenser drier with heat pump
Wow chaps, I didn’t realise my innocent question was quite so loaded!!!
I’m very glad of all this info though, (even the cries of “chicken!” from Ken when I was ready to give up!) and will be going back with fresh impetus to explore the bowels of the said drier.
Hope I get out alive… 😯
Martin, I’ll take you up on your kind offer of more info thanks. Here comes a PM. Simonsimtoms

Thanks for your responses, the belt is fine. I’m not into refrigeration systems except on electrical faults, so better pass on this one…

Hi Martin, thanks for reply.
I did check when it first occurred a while ago, but maybe a closer look is called for…

Cold supply and pressure all good Mike. It seems to eventually get through the cycle, but stops for long spells doing nothing although the lights and display are all active. 😕 😡

ParticipantRe: Zanussi w/m long pauses
Thanks Martin.
It seems to heat fine and drain out. Would it throw a wobbly if components are not within normal parameters, even if they work ok?

ParticipantRe: JLWD1404 no drier heat

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGV5303GB/17
Must confess I haven’t checked, its a rather well installed integrated machine!
I am getting 240 through the on/off switch though, which would suggest mains power is good. Can check that though when I go back with washing machine part. Thanks.simtoms
ParticipantRe: dwf417 constant flashing
Thanks Mike. I appreciate the help.
A tricky process of elimination but hopefully I’ll find something visible….

ParticipantRe: dwf417 constant flashing
I tried plugging wires onto an inlet solenoid from my van but no joy. Any ideas what parameters it works within before it kicks up a faulty solenoid?
Thanks.simtoms
ParticipantRe: dwf417 constant flashing
sorry, forgot to specify it was a dishwasher. It actually appears to be a Smeg, although its outwardly an Ikea Whirlpool.. the plot certainly thickens…. :rolls:
