    ok update on problem , hose kinked at back of machine doh! , turned on washer and water coming in through matrix then starts rinse cycle then stops and nothing more i can pump out water and tried another cycle same thing ??

    ok guys , took apart the cover in the sump , the pump was a bit sticky and there was a trace of food on the inside of the cover plate so i washed it off spun the impeller around a few times replaced the cover and it started up straight away drained water and stopped . i ran a 45 degree quick wash and all is well , thanks for all the advice penguin and nomad 😀

    cheers p will have a look 2moro , is there a related solenoid or capacitor that could fail causing a similar problem ?

    hey penguin , its not draining when i do a reset it just starts the humming process in the pump as above so im guessing drain pump ? oh and i cant get any diagrams from the bshappliance care site it keeps telling me to ring the helpline any other links to a diagram of this m/c thanks

    cheers penguin , although i wouldnt be afraid of the job it sounds a bit long winded and if something goes wrong there is the m/c on the kitchen floor in bits , which of course herself would be thriled with i may splash out the 300 euro for a new model and take the hotpoint out to the shed for a bit of investigation .thanks for the speedy reply as always top notch fella

    hi guys , had another go at the dishwasher today turns out water in the tray was the problem penguin cheers mate had some effin trouble gettin it in and out of the units twas mounted up on a piece of counter top under the legs and they were seized !! i gave a good hour tryin to get at it all worked out in the end though thanks for a speedy reply fellers

    cheers mate i’ll try that in the mornin , do i need to get the dishwasher out of the kitchen units to get underneath it ?
