ParticipantRe: New Electrolux Washer (Chinese)
I run an Amica AWM612D at home. I was considering selling them and set one up to use to check it out. I work to John Lewis standards lol. It’s well made for the price, very well packaged for transport and has a split tub, uses proper screws and bolts rather than stuff welded and hooked on (not mentioning Inde…). In daily use its ok but not good enough. So I didn’t buy any more. It is noisy especially on spin as it spins out of balance and hammers the suspension hard. Have only seen it balance itself once and that was with bath mats so its not sensitive enough with normal washing. The dispenser compartments are far too small to use properly and the program defaults are annoying as you have to alter them every time. Ie Main cotton wash default is 60 degree 900 spin with 2 rinses. 1200 spin 40 would be a good start. It washes rinses and spins ok. Final 1200 spin is like the older Hotpoint WMA ie only a few seconds at max speed. I also see that they have now dissapeared from Amica’s website. It does play nice tunes though and the tub wash program works well!

ParticipantRe: Inmans
This is sad news indeed, I like dealing with Inmans. I do hope the business can be rescued.
Appserve- I use Portway now and then. Have bought driers and lots of microwaves from them and the odd Amica washer. Always had good service and excellent delivery, though lately their stock range and availability is not what I want hence have been going to Inmans alot more.

ParticipantRe: a quiet few days
Quiet on the sales front here. Been really busy Jan – Feb but then all stopped in March. Catching up with my accounts and paperwork so no bad thing really, gives me some breathing space.

I’m using Inmans alot more recently though am really struggling to get LG microwaves lately. Portway don’t have them anymore either and I’ve sold heaps of them. Who’s best for Lg micros guys?

ParticipantRe: beko drum paddles / welded tubs ?
iadom
Beko WMA spider and drum are available from connect as individuals for some machines. I’ve done the spider on my own WMA765S. Like you say its bolted nicely to the drum and a fairly easy job, but I didn’t have to buy the drum. Same on the WMA745. Other WMA machines seem to have complete drum only available. Weird!

Brill ordered and a happy Servis will be washing again!

ParticipantRe: Servis M6852 start button
Now there’s an idea Chris thanks. Without stripping the door handle etc if you press start and then shut the door the machine starts straight up everytime. How weird!

ParticipantRe: SERVIS
You’ve only to look on ebay to know that people haven’t a clue what their washer actually is. The number of times you see a Hotpoint washer being sold as Hoover or vice versa. Guess it’s just a white/silver/black box in the kitchen to them and that’s also why they pay little for it!

ParticipantRe: Beko WMA765s stuck at certain time readouts
Well replaced the brushes first and no change so sent module for repair came back all worked fine until end of program when the door interlock wouldn’t release the door and the module failed again. Put new interlock in and replaced the module and all working fine since. Hurrah!

ParticipantRe: Amica appliances
I’ve just started selling the Amica 1000 spin 6 KG machine. I’ve run one a few times myself and its a well built machine for the money and does a great job. Seems to be well designed with some thought gone into it, ie solid control knob, good drain filter access and the underside is covered to reduce noise etc. Gets through the cycle without fuss like many other machines like LGs and hotpoints that take forever to do a spin cycle. I’ts better quality than Indesit and low end Bekos. Good range of programs. Will see how we go.

ParticipantRe: connections mediator
yes i did speak to my rep. He covers wales and I live in Lincolnshire! They decided to keep him on my account when I moved so i’m now even more unlikely to see him. They said they would do it by phone to make it easier but then changed their minds and said he would have to visit but I gave up ringing to ask it to be set up. One day maybe!

I’ve been asking since Christmas to be set up on the new site because i want to enable direct delivery. Not seen a rep for 4 years! Nuff said.

ParticipantRe: ASKO bearing change W6461
Yeah it’s already been looked at by someone else who said the bearings have gone but wouldn’t do it because they’d never done an Asko before.
