Are any of the lights on the front flashing? No, none are flashing. The red power light is on and so is the empty water filter light.
It could also be the float switch that is at fault. It is on the rear of the machine bottom RHS it could be stuck, it is worth checking.

ParticipantRe: hotpoint WD860 coins in drum
You may need to use a scredriver to release the tab you push it through the hole in the top of the paddle. Hotpoint machines do not ghave a filter as they have self cleaning pumps.

You may if you are lucky be able to remove a lifter (wash paddle) and remove the offending coins. The other way is to remove the heater but I would not recommend it if you have any doubts in your own ability. Of course never work on a machine whilst it is plugged in.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Ultima FDW80 Fault code displayed AL01
AL-01 can also be caused by the heater going down to earth.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Aquarius CTD00
Normal cause of noise on the CDT range is either the cooloing impellor which is on the right hand side of the machine (viewed from the front) or the drum catching on the rear panel on older appliances. It is a known fault with these tumble dryers.

ParticipantRe: Ariston Margherita CDE 12 X EEPROM incompatibility?
A machine not completing a wash cycle can be caused by a faulty wash element and this should be tested for continuity and earthg faults with water in the drum. However it can also be caused by a faulty motor or harness.
