If the door locks but you have no door locked indication you have a Moter Fault. (Brushes etc)

If it is only 8 months old it is covered by the manufacturers warranty, so a call to Indesit is in order.

The comercial code should be on the rating plate it is an eleven digit number. To get the correct EPROM for a WD you need to know what type of heater box is fitted Version 1,2 or 3. I suspect from the SN you supplied that it will be a Ver 3 box. I havent got access to part numbers at the Mo but I am sure someone can help you out.

Could be the wash motor that is faulty as this is wired in series with the drain pump.

To see if it is a filter problem remove the kick strip at the bottom may need to prise it off with a screwdriver. Pump is located at the RHS check that the seal has not perished.

Whose to say the next step will be connecting your appliance to the Internet so that your number of washes & your smalls can be remotely monitored? Spooky

That has bee trialed already using a dial up connection the aim being to be proactive in fault resoloution.

BTW everytime an Indesit engineer connects his lap top to a washing machine it downloads what washes have been used. Hence the moon was born with the most common wash functions on it. Big Brother is watching……..

    Hi

With “arcadia” when you replace a PCB it will come out blank ie. not programed. You then need a smart card reader to connect to the PCB but in order to program it you need a card. This is about the size of a credit card.

The card is machine specific and it is a one shot card which means that if for any reason it does not downlod correctly you will need to but a new card.

I can see 2 reasons for Indesit doing this.

    1. It saves them money as they have done away with an EPROM there engineers can proram it using MEMWRITER.

    2. For third part engineers there is a source of income in buying the cards, you only need one reader to connect to the machines.

    Hi
No you wont need a smart card to opertae the machine, the smart card is for reprograming the new board (Arcadia Board). It is so far fitted to washing machines WIB range, new dishwashers some cooking platforms.

In the end though Arcadia technology will be fitted to everything that Indesit produce.

Re: Hotpoint, arrrgggghhhh!! What are my options??

A very intersting read. With Indesit and D&G the exchnage process works in this fashion. An engineer needs to go out to the appliance, there is no such thing as BER if the parts are available the appliance will be repaired. If the engineer feels that the machine should be written off he has to call into Indesits exchnage team. They not the engineer make the decision on wether it should or should not be. The exchnage team have a quota of how many machines can be exchnaged per month (bonus payable).

There is however a timescale for repairs to be completed 28 days, but to get an exchange under this clause you have to push it. Talking to D&G normally does no good as you are talking to a call centre not the claims department.

Any further info anyone requires just PM me I can also answer master care, what ever happens policies etc.

    Hi

Depending on the age of the appliance (based on the serial number) there have been a few mods to these models to cure the ice build up problem. These have included replacing gutter heaters, using silcon sealant between the seal and the door.

F-08 = heater relay fault this is part of the main PCB, if it is only 4 years old you have a free parts warranty with Indesit might be worth calling them.

Re: Hotpoint WMA57 Pumps in water through soap tray after sp

    Hi

If you do not have your original proof of purchase Indesit will still honour the 5 years parts warranty. They do this by looking at the serial number and if that indicates that the machine is under 5 years of age you will be fine. Serial number should be located inside the door or on the rear of the machine.
