    hi again,
done it for thirty mins still stone cold. i placed one side of the meter agains an earth and then placed the other probe against the spade connecters on the element one at a time and they all show 240v, is it possible that the element is shot and i just need to change it ? i hope it is cream crackered though if theres no open circuit how can that be? 😕

sorry, no i haven`t tried that yet cos i thought with this button be ing popped out it would cut the power to the elephant and it wouldn`t work anyway, don`t know if thats right or not. 🙂

i ran the it on a dying cycle for about 10 minutes and it went through the cycle normally. then i tuned the power off and took the element out right away and it was stone cold and so were the clothes that were in it . during the cycle i connected my meter up to the connections directly on the back of the element and there is no voltage across the terminals, shouldn`t there be 240v across them ? 😕

is the condenser the big flat weird shape plastic container where all the fluff seems to collect?

ah, but wait, i still have one more question, you don`t get rid of me that easily 😆 –as i said before eveything now working fine, i fixed the leak, it was leaking from where the water heater fits into the drum , i just pushed it right in and tightened the nut on it and put some silicon on it for good measure. seems have done the trick.
anyway the dryer element needs changing as its not drying very well if at all . i checked the resistance with my multimeter but wondered if anyone could give me anytips on testing this further just to be sure before i order a new one?
do you think i should have put this in a new thread or is it ok to keep this one going?

sussed it 🙂 i had the drain pipe too low, its all working now , just got a bit of a leak somewhere but i dont think its the drum seal or anything to difficult to put right. so you could say i`ve finnished 😮

just had another thoght , does it make any difference how long the water inlet pipe is? i have had to use the outside tap to connect it to the washer to test it , the pipe is about 7 metres long as the washer is in the conservatory. ❓
