    hi again
i managed to get the old bearings out without to much trouble with a hammer and punch.
the recesses on the metal bearing receiver thing that is part of the outer drum half seem in good nick,eg. smooth shiny metalbut there is a space between where the inner and outer bearings sit which is corroded a .will thisprevent me from installing new bearings?from what i can tell the spiders shaft sits on the two bearings and doesn`t touch the rusted bits when it is spinning.. is this correct?
what is the channel /space between the inner and outer bearings for?
is it there to allow you to knock the old ones out?
any advice woul be much appreciated.

    hi again Phidom
i sent you a pm but it appears i may have messed that up as well. i can see my message in the outbox but nothing in the sent box. i will get the hang of this eventually. possibly. 😕

still having trouble, the spider bolts came out easy and they`re all like new so i can re-use. only problem the spider still won`t seperate from the inner metal drum. the holes for the bollts in the metal drum have been pressed inward by the taper below the bolt heads . they protrude slightly into the threads on the spider stopping me from sliding it out of the lip on the drum. anyone got any ideas how i can get past this latest obstacle?

    hi again
i managed to get the bolt off . that tip about the heat worked a treat! i didn`t use a blow torch my hot air gun seemed to do the trick.it did have threadlock on it.
bit of a sod to getthe the spider shaft out of the old bearings but managed it in the end . i am now a bit puzzled about the tub seal as it doesn`t seem like the ones listed for the model iv`e got . its just like a big blue elastic band with a groove in it. its about 5mm thick. is this going to be hard to find a replacement for?

thanks mate. but i`m a bit wary about putting a blow torch any where near the plastick tub. did you manage to do do it without melting any of the plastic?
