not to worry of it fully closing tight, its there to trap the heat in when customer selects to cook with top oven mode, works off a tapered disc behind the cotrol panel when top oven is selected, thus pushing the rod back to close the flap. but if the customer is complaining about poor cooking, it needs to be investigated. top oven usually about 190deg’sC at gas mk5, if this helps you.

have you checked the hose from the pump to the air break chamber, and espiecally where it enters, if its not lifting the water over the air break, there could a blockage right at the point of where the hose goes in, and a classic is cling film.. as you cant see it.

Technically it should have all shut down, at the end of programme and no power to motor, as with the control board should end prog. but if you trace the wiring back from the motor(which is like a little turntable motor) then you can check if voltage is still getting to it.

could be the little motor which distributes the water from top arm, and then to bottom arm, could explain why tablet not disolving.

just looked on the tds site. it doesn’t realy give a good picture of what you are looking for, but the part no. for the compressor is 53039183099 and the bit it shows that clips into the compressor, it has some wires/contacts coming out, they call it a (reversing)?. thats the only component listed to the comp, and that part no is 2415775028. both are listed on connect and m/pts site, but have no pictures/photo’s, be warned these are pricey parts, dont know if this will help.
