    Hey Dave.
    Thanks again for your advice.

The Thermostat tripped again this morning.

Util the new stats come, what I think I’ll do is to drill a small 5mm hole in the back of the Dryer case, just behind the Stats, so that when it pops, I can just push a pin straight in without keep taking the back off.
Obviously , turning the power off first.

    Thanks

    Simon

I’ll buy the Stat kit anyway. for what it costs, its probably worth doing.
It’s a start. See if it still trips.

    Thanks

With Regards to the Condenser. You cant actually see the fins as it were on that model. You can see the plates of metal that enclose the fins, but the fins are fully enclosed as far as I can see.
The plates look in good condition. the odd dent on the edge, but other than they seem ok.
The Thermostat has tripped 3 times now. each time I reset it, and it works for up to a week, and then trips again.

The Thermostat tripped once again today, so I’ve taken the Condenser out again, gave it another clean. did as best as I could to make sure the plates (or fins) arent touching, when you hold it up to the light you can see clearly through. There are like nipples on each plate that touches the plate above or below. But no crud.
I’ve re-set the thermostat, and it appears to be working again… for now.

    Thanks for your advise.

is the condensor clean. can you see light all the way through all the fins ?

if this is clear try changing the pair of stats

these should be right but ask shop to confirm

    Hi Dave

Its funny you mention the condenser, as I had a heck of a job fitting it back after taking it out to clean it. It took me about 30 minutes to persuade it to go fully back into place.
So maybe it is a Condenser problem?

    Thanks Martin

    I appreciate your advice.
But seeing as the machine was 7 years plus old.
    I decided to buy new.

I agree that throwing parts at a machine isn’t a great idea. but I figured it was worth a £30 gamble.
Didn’t pay off this time and. next time I will check all the areas you have suggested.

Thanks ever so for your help.
Bought a second hand Beko to get me by for the next year or so.

    Regards and Thanks

The Pump needed, if it is the pump. Would be this one according to the store
    https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/4900222 … drain-pump
    Part no SKU: 49002228

Just wondered if there is a cheaper compatible part, in case its not the pump.

Having said that it pumps out water ok,
I opened up the Pump Trap, and a load of water came out?
    So maybe not?

    HI Kai

It pumps out the water ok? So could be the selector possibly.
Any chance of a PCB issue?

Re: Hoover HPB 145-80 Slow cycle issue

    As a follow up

I have replaced the Heating Element and Temperature sensor. (worth the gamble for less that £30)
It appears to have made no difference.

So, what is the next thing to look at before I think “chuck it and get another”

I was reading the article on “Washing Machine spin out of balance protection” and wondering if that could be a possibility, it does sometimes sound like the Good lady may have put a brick in the wash, even though its not overloaded.
Could a dampener be the issue?

    Thanks

Ok just stuck my meter on the heater terminals.
On my low ohm setting of 200, I get a reading of around 300 from the terminals.
    Whatever that means.
