Cheers for the info, Stripey. The heater has been checked for insulation & continuity & it is all ok.

Is this the turbidity sensor on this appliance?

Re: Electrolux ESL 6114, no water

Does the water heat during the wash? If not, unplug the appliance & check the heater resistance. NO LIVE TESTING!

Does it drain the water it filled up with? If not, check the drain hose etc.

If it does drain, does it fill up again? If not, are the hoses connected to the correct parts of the IWMS.

Let me know how you get on.

Re: Zanussi Fridge Freezer ZEBF 255 – fridge & freezer b

Sounds like a system fault. i.e: lack of refrigerant, blocked system, inefficient compressor. If so, potentially a major fault.

If it was ok before the move, it could be that some damage may have occured to the pipework which allowed the refrigerant to escape. Was it transported in an upright position? Did you leave it to stand before switching it back on?

5024 97 01-00 / 9 is the part number you require for that product number.

As I said, whatever works for the individual is fine, even if it is a placebo in the view of others. Penguin has his way of dealing with a problem which works for him, others approach it from another angle. I say potato & all that.

Let’s not argue any further & just agree to different points of view. We all want the same thing after all in that to impart our knowledge & experience on others who want it.

    Good luck all.

An informative review, Penguin. Like I said, please don’t think that I am disputing your knowledge which I am sure is comprehesive. I have a naturally inquisitive mind & like to ask questions. I guess that is why we do what we do.

    Good luck Penguin.

Re: AEG lavamat 72630 problem pump?

I am not disputing your knowledge, just trying to expand my own by asking questions as I believe this is how we all learn in life. Having said that, you say that P&G recommend to use a whites bio detergent. Call me cynical but they are hardly likely to say otherwise, I feel.

The detegent properties of soda crystals are, I suspect, virtually zero.

I guess at the end of the day people have differing ways on tackling the same problem. I have heard people using citric acid (a trick old AEG techs will confirm),bleach & vinegar amonst other things.

    Whatever works, I suppose.

    Best wishes.

Is there any way that this can influence the other fault code “AL05” or is this totally separate?

Re: AEG lavamat 72630 problem pump?

For what reason would you not use soda crystals. I have been given this advice for years before anyone had even heard of Kim & Aggie by many people higher up the domestic appliance manufaturers food chain than I (I.E. various technical advisers, senior techs, centre managers etc). I have used this method in my own machine over the years & it is in tip top condition after 7 years & 3 kids later.

I know this is what the instruction booklets say in some cases in that to use a whites bio powder however.

    Cheers.

Re: AEG lavamat 72630 problem pump?

    Hi Rudders.

I’m pleased that, touch wood, the maintenance wash has done the trick. All I would suggest further is obviously to regularly maintain the drain filter & to run a 95 degree cycle without pre wash or any other option, no laundry with a cup of soda crystals poured directly into the drum, not the dispenser. Let the cycle complete & then check the drain filter. Do this maintenance cycle about once every six months.

    Good luck.

Re: AEG lavamat 72630 problem pump?

That is odd that you say it has fully drained then displayed “E20”. Did the rate of drainage appear unduly slow? Does it drain into a sinktrap?

It might be worthwhile putting the drain hose into a bucket, filling the machine & then putting it onto drain & seenig how quick/slow the water drains.

The machine obviously thinks it isn’t draining quick enough or at all. “E20” usually appears after 10 minutes of drain pump action without water being drained to reset the pressure switch to empty. It is unlikely the pressure swich is faulty. It could even be a blocked air chamber or air hose. Take off the thin black rubber hose from the pressure switch & blow down it to see if it is clear.

Please ensure that any work you carry out is done with the appliance unplugged from the mains voltage supply.

Re: AEG lavamat 72630 problem pump?

    Hi Steve.

Do you have the product number? It is on a rating plate behind the door & begins with 914.

Also, I assume that as you checked the drain filter the machine was therefore empty of water. If so, when you tried afterwards, did the door lock & did it start to fill with water.

    Let me know.
