Cheers for that Martin. I have to admit I did miss that bit.

I shall give it a go.

    Hi Martin.

Yes I am in the trade. I am a Serviceforce tech.

At the risk of sounding like a plum, how do I register as a trade member & what does that grant me?

Send me a personal message if you can advise further.

    Thanks.

    Hi Dave.

    Anyone know what “AL05” represents?

    Bloody dishwashers.

Re: Hotpoint Ultima FDW80 Fault code displayed AL01

Sorry if this is going to cause any confusion but it was me that started this post. Davyboy212 was my cousins sign in & I didn’t have an account on here when I was looking at the dishwasher in question.

As I said, I am actually a Zanussi/Electrolux Tech so Hotpoint dishwashers aren’t my speciality but you mentioned the turbidity sensor. Do you have a photo of what it looks like? If it looks like what I am thinking, it is in the base on a clear plastic pipe situated above the drain pump & has a direct wiring connection to the float microswitch so this could have some relevance. What would happen if this were disconnected? Would this be recognised as a fault by the board? Is there any way of testing it with my meters or is this not possible? If so, what sort of reading should be found?

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Electrolux ESL 6114, no water

    You could try this process:
    1) UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE FROM THE MAINS ELECTRICITY SUPPLY! (IMPORTANT!)
    2) Turn off inlet water supply & unscrew inlet hose from appliance inlet valve.
    3) Remove access panel to gain acces to inlet valve.
    4) Remove clear hose from inlet valve diaphragm & then reconnect hose to diaphragm.
    5) Refit access panel & inlet hose. Turn on water supply. Re-establish mains supply & try on a cycle.

If it then fills, this proves that the inlet valve had locked out. This happens when the appliance overfills which in turn is due to the IWMS being blocked in the vast majority of cases.

    Good luck.

Re: Electrolux ESL 6114, no water

Is it product number 911841111 as there are 4 different versions & this is the only one that I think has an IWMS. Looking at the pic, I would think that the IWMS is the most likely culprit. Part number of IWMS for product number 911841111 is 152 46 24-03 / 6 .

    Good luck.

Ditto here. Tried both model & product number. Looks like it’s probably obsolete.

    Sorry.

    Re: Zanussi ZX79/5SI FRIDGE PROBLEMS

This model has no defrost timer. The defrost cycle is swiched on & off by the control board. The most likely cause is either the evaporator or drain heaters going open circuit. Another thing could be an out of calibration evaporator or air sensor which the board doesn’t recognise as a fault unlike if they go open or short circuit. Best thing to do is unplug the appliance & test for continuity of both heaters. If they check out, it is probably the sensor.

Let me know how you get on.

    Re: Door not closed error

E40 code is door lock related. If you have replaced the lock, it is quite likely the control board has failed, either as a result of an original fault with the lock.
