ParticipantRe: DSG/RepairCare Rate Cuts
My time in this business has taught me two things
1). NEVER trust a work provider … if you buy spares from them, always try to owe them more than they owe you.
2). NEVER think of work providers as friends … the people you deal with may be really nice, but it’s the Accountants who pay the billsturbodry
ParticipantRe: Boy dies in Tumble Dryer horror
Very sad … could be someone opened the door before cycle end, found the clothes were dry and just emptied it … ie. just shut the door and away it goes again (old types only)
We ALWAYS tell customers with older dryers to allow the cycle to finish before emptying it.July 26, 2010 at 10:50 am in reply to: those nasty w/p pumps which leak from the rubber and… #319426turbodry

Very rewarding to repair the unrepairable, but what about product liability if you modify away from the original?

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Drum Paddles
Can’t believe that only Hotpoint owners wash trainers & leave coins in pockets ….. yet only see the problem on Hotpoints (very rarely a Zanussi).
IMO not fit for purpose … either by design or constructionturbodry
ParticipantRe: Trade or retail …YOU DECIDE!
We buy odd bits & pieces from Portway and I was disturbed to see this!
Rang them and they pointed out that they only deliver to the Andover area.
Problem is that my customer up here in the Midlands can see their on-line prices – Amica AWP510L @ £179 …. not much room for us in that price!!!
We were just going to get back into Amica now that the aftersales is sorted, but this will give us a serious re-think.turbodry

ParticipantRe: Emergency services Limited???
I wouldn’t touch a business that is shy of publicising it’s postal address
on it’s website WITH A LONG POLE!!!
It immediately brings to mind a business run from “granny’s front room” … here today, but most likely gone tomorrow.turbodry
ParticipantRe: Avatar gone astray
I’m sorry that you’ve lost your as well …. it was seeing your animated toolbox monsters that made me want to make one.

ParticipantRe: Avatar gone astray
Hi Martin …. I did that (I saw your previous posts on the subject) still no go.
My techie 15 year old couldn’t make it work either, he even tried hosting the gif elswhere and linking it.
He suspects it’s something to do with the site’s anti-virus.turbodry

The best thing is , it’s freeI tried this (normally use Sage), it took about 20 minutes to install itself, and I got the distinct impression it was going to places in my computer that I didn’t want it to go, and was “calling home”!!
Had a quick look at it, copied my data from Sage, but was not impressed, and spent the next HOUR trying to remove all traces of the Blo**dy thing!
Sage loads in about 2 minutes and doesn’t screw up your computer, also, your accountant will most likely be using it as well, so you’ll be able to email him your backups for year-end etc. -
