Actually, it seems to be running through the motions, but the motor appears to be unresponsive to the commands I can hear clicking away via the control panel.

I switched it to drain, which worked, and it seems to be OK again now, fingers crossed. Thanks 🙂

The door is locked, it won’t open. I didn’t know there was a child lock, how can I check if it is enabled?

The machine has been working fine, but last night the items came out still wet and when trying to start a new cycle, nothing happens. I can hear the control panel clicking away as if it’s trying to do something, but the machine won’t start a cycle. Any suggestions?

ps – I still can’t see anything visibly wrong with the old element. Anyway, new element ordered. 🙂

I managed to bend the top bracket instead of removing the fan, which seemed impossible.

Hmm, so it’s possible I’ve been tightening it? 🙂

You’re absolutely right, that nut is difficult to undo. Do you know what wrench size it is?

    Thanks Dave, you’re a star 🙂
I’ve just had a look at the current element and it actually looks fine. I was expecting it to look like it had blown in some way – what causes them to go?

I did train as a mechanical engineer back in the early 80s, so I’ll give it a try 🙂

Is there some sort of guide as to taking it apart etc?

Thanks – is this something I can replace myself, or is it an engineer’s job?

Thanks Don. The E-Nr on the front side of the oven reads: U1721N2GB. /05. FD 8405

Are there any engineers in my area (SW15) that can fix this dishwasher again?
