Well chaps, today is my last contractual day with Repaircare… And funnily enough, I have a certain spring in my step this morning 🙂

BlockedRe: Redundancies at Repaircare/Connect
Well I for one is happy to see Mark still there! I know he is related to the Depper family, but I believe, coming from the Engineering background, he’s a listener! He might not be able to do anything, immediately, but I do believe he fights our corners in the rooms that such meetings take place, even if he is a minority.
Maybe if Repaircare had more people like Mark in place (i.e people who have actually held tools) within management, the DSG bullsh1t might never have occurred, as there is a difference between Armani suits & Degrees, to knowing what the f**k you’re on about!
Asking firms / Engineers to repair stuff and guarantee the whole appliance for 30 days paying an average of £34…. Cumon like! Get fuc*ing real!
Apologies for bluntness, but this topic makes my skin crawl… End of!

Back to serious stuff…
So far we seem to be agreed on the general set up for WTA meetings for 2011? We pay our own travel & room, WTA can feed us lunch and evening meal at an average cost (i.e Pub grub)?
We just need input from Bryan, Steve (Aqua), Ian & Chris before we debate logistical / In house stuff further?

Stephen… What’s the worst thing that can happen? I mean it’s only a 6 hour drive (Up there)! 😆
By the way, I still chuckle to “Ooops….., no babe that was someone accidentally sneezing”! 😆 That was probably one of the funniest spur of the moment lines I’ve herd for years!

BlockedRe: WTA Logo
I’ve sent George & Deltra the Logo a few minutes ago…
If anyone else would like the Logo, email me:
adrian.welke@whitegoodstradeassociation.org and I’ll send one by return in JPEG format.

Looks like Repaircare are STILL debiting back to £20 for Kenwood Elba via DSG. Just had another £17 deduction for an exchange, confirmed with Damien @ RC that this is a Kenwood job, NOT Coverplan!

Reply to my above post from Mr Harrison:
Thank you for your feedback and concerns regarding the people affected by the changes.Naturally we wish them well and thank them for the contribution they made to Repaircare.
To confirm Mark Riley is staying with us and you will be hearing from Mark, I am sure, in the near future.
On a personal note-people keep asking if I am moving (changing jobs) to DSG-the answer is no!
Thanks and regards

Really??? As per Lawrence then 🙂
I’d have thought the Park would be a fair bit dearer 😕

You’ve made some very good points there Lawrence.
The WTA might be going bigger and better than expected, so more time IS DEFO needed to make sure it rolls as per plans!
I have no objection paying for rooms and travel, food to be paid for by WTA? That as you say, minimises cost to WTA funds, and STOPS Ken paying for most, as he has done until now!
I’m in favour of securing the Fenwick everytime we meet, and in favour of paying room & travel for 2011.
Might I also suggest, that people unable to make these events, either agree to let desicions be made in their absence, or stand down? As the way this is going, we need man hours ASWELL as a financial commitment from the council to progress it through.
Apologies for the bluntness above, but IMO given the state of the trade as it is now, we need people to attend, chip in and pay… Rewards will be in the future!

As per:
With the rumour being confirmed today, I’m a bit shocked to be honest!
I only know Mark out of the 3 and think he might be an asset lost!
I for one will definitely try to speak to Mark somehow to express my surprise and also wish him all the best. I’m hoping he stays within this trade, as IMO, he’s one of the best people I’ve dealt with in this game and would welcome him in to my office any day!
With the email issued today, is Repaircare ok? What I mean is… Is it continuing to progress? The DSG rate cuts have now OBVIOUSLY caused you (Repaircare) in house problems as it has us engineers… How long are these rates & terms survivable?
In some respects, I may not need ask as I’m out of notice period Friday, but as I am here and now, I’m still a Repaircare agent, so I will ask!
I sympathise with Repaircare management for the decisions that have been made this week (For what it’s worth), maybe now, you might kind of see why DSG are hated amongst some repairers…? The DSG situation IMO is something that needs dealing with NOW, to avoid any more casualties.

Ohhhhh! I thought you meant the extra…
Surely if you say you want payment for the original quote, he’ll gladly pay? After all, he’ll know he’s had a win out of the situation if the fridge is now working fine? And just write the rest off?
Other than that, I think Jackal might be your man for this one?! I’ve never been in this position so unable to help (Or try to) any further 🙁

Well it’s past close of business for most by now, and no issue of any statement!
What I find odd, is why choose the Monday morning to make 3 people redundant, when the 2 remaining management members are on holiday too? Gary & David are on holiday, now the remaining 3 management members are out of a job? Who is managing Repaircare this week?
