I have always worked on the principal that the quality and strength of a foundation dictates how strong whatever is built on top of it becomes.Totally agree. But, from another angle 😕 !
I’m going to start from scratch now.I look at starting the WTA in the same way as if I were involved in starting a Business. As lawrence has said, we do need a strong foundation. But for me, before ANYTHING is done, tackled, raised or debated, we should have the following sorted:
Constitution agreed
WTA registered, wherever it needs to be
Accountants agreed and confirmed
Bank Account opened and membership funds transferred
VAT registration number applied for
Logo designed and approved (I know Ken is working on it  )
website designed and looking good for joe public to visit (bottom line is, image goes a long long way, so to be professional, we have to firstly look professional)IMO, the above list should be our first tasks, and only when the above are all ticked, then we can start to build a foundation. Untill then, i see it as building one, whilst leaving holes in it to be filled at a later date….. it weakens the wall!
Would anyone start a Business without having an accountant, or a Bank account sorted? Would you leaflet drop your local area to ‘spread the word’ without a Logo proudly displaying your name?
Can we agree that we spend the next X amount of days getting the above sorted? Then you wouldn’t have to listen to me going on about these ‘less important’ issues 😉 and we can crack on with lining up the ducks in silence 😀VillageIdiot2

Move it over then if you wouldn’t mind Ken, if nothing else, just to bring safety back to the forefront of our minds.

Agreed, I could fly the South to North air link and self-invite me to Seans’ place, and then travel up with him…. Hope that’d be OK Sean 😆

Just a suggestion :eeek: 😆 ……, now that we are all sort of, um, …. semi aquainted, and as we have got the basics near enough sorted, why don’t we arrange another meeting, for Council members (and we could invite members) to attend to discuss the next steps in person? It doesn’t have to be a big occasion like the the UKW meeting, just a Sat AM or PM or something like that?

Lawrence wrote:why not sell them…
put them in the shop on UKW like the fault code books sell them at a reduced cost to WTA members, and perhaps a slightly higher cost to regular trade members .Agreed, we could advertise them on the WTA website with a link to the UKW store? I hear that Steve has a family member who could look at re-manufacturing these tools? I think this would be a good member benefit 😀

BlockedRe: WTA Logo
Whey hey…. Now I’m getting exited (simple things please simple minds a!! 😆 )
If we can leave it to you then Ken to change the font or whatever, then hopefully, if everyone agrees, we have a WTA Logo 😀VillageIdiot2
BlockedRe: WTA Logo
What about this as our Logo?

We DO need a Logo, for ID cards, website, membership certs, van stickers etc.
I think we may already have one here…….?

Cracking idea….. I never got jack from DASA….. As a newbie, I would have loved another certificate to put up in the office, as for the van signing, again, what better way to get everyone to notice the WTA given that the rear of every van is seen hundreds of times each day…..
I’d say make this idea a priority 😀(oh, only after we have a logo to put on it 😉 )… Sorry… couldn’t resist 😆
