Thanks Seamy, I will try and take the top off for a look. Fingers crossed it ain’t welded, looking on the electrolux site the replacing the tub assembly could be expensive.I tried Martins suggestion last night and it looks to me as though the drum is moving, but all of it, not by much but enough to notice.
why does nothing last forever!

Muv wrote:If its making a high pitched noise when on the spin cycle, it’s more than likely your bearings need replacing…try putting you finger on the top of the stainless steel drum and lifting up with your finger slightly… If you encounter any movement there..it’s usually a sign of worn bearings..
Not sure if your machine employs a sealed drum unit. If this is the case then the bearings alone can’t be replaced..only the complete drum assembly…(expensive)…
Someone on here should be able to tell you if this is the case, as I have not worked on this model before..
Martin
thanks Martin, I shall try the lifting thing, though the noise is deeper and not high pitched. And I can only hope its not the expensive option, thanks for answering.

ParticipantRe: Electrolux Inspire EWN 13570 W – Err 20 code
an update for you.
my wife it seems has no faith in my ability to fix things and called in an engineer. he took the machine out and took out the pipes, pump etc looking for a blocvk and found a button blocking a “pressure switch thingy” (her words not mine) which was slowing the flow of water causing the error code.
anyhow all fixed and i am £45 lighter. 🙁 at least she is happy.
thanks for the help and for looking in.

aqualectric wrote:If the filter is clean then the machine is sensing that it has not completely drained in the time allowed. That will mean checking the outlet hose and the spigot on the sink trap (if it is connected to the sink trap) for blockages. With the power off :plug: check the sump hose for foreign bodies, eg: a sock. Lean the machine back, lay down on the floor and look up under the machine. The sump hose is a concertina type on the right side of the machine from the tub to the pump housing. If all that is clear, it may indicate a failing pump or the triac that powers it (main circuit board) problems.
My money’s on a simple blockage. 😉
A.
thanks for the reply, i had another go last night and thought for a moment i had it working, but then the bloody error code comes up again.
so far cleaned all the easily accessible bits, drums work, it drains, it spins etc but just doesnt seem to drain completely, so i like you think a blockage somewhere. will tip the machine up tonight and have a look.
thanks for the advice and i will let you know how i get on.

ParticipantnomadPaul wrote:it could be the drain hoses are blocked causing a slow drain problem.
The machine will allow 6 mins to drain before it stops and shuts down. On the occasions when it hasn’t drained fully on the rinse cycle , did you get any flashing lights on the display ? These can indicate a fault display and may well be in your instruction manual .
The water levels are quite different between the wash and rinse cycles so it may be draining the water on the wash cycle within the 6 minute limit but the rinse level may be just too much.
To test this , switch the machine on and start it on a cotton cycle – wait until the machine has filled properly ( or just wait 3 mins ) and then switch to ‘drain’ . It should , in proper condition , drain within about 20 – 30 secs ( you will hear the tone of the drain pump change ) If it takes considerably longer , then a drain hose blockage or weak pump will be the probable cause .
i did try that and no draining at all, the only way to drain it is to do it maually, bugger!! thanks though, looks like an engineer or a new one

silverbroomthanks for that, have filled in the form, hope there is someone close and its not to expensive.

Participantbugger, gets all the way to the drain and final spin cycle and stops!!!!!! it doesnt drain away the water or go into spin. now more confused, anyone any ideas?
thanks again for looking

Congratulations & I hope it keeps working for you, if not please post again & we will do our best to help.Andy.
Please Remember when working on your machine: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT. 🙂
thanks Andy, its almost at the end of the cycle, so hopefully it finishes – if it does both me and my wallet will be happy!!

Specialist01269 wrote:Was the machine plugged in & turned on at the socket when you did this?
turned off at the main, and unplugged all the way thru. a small accident with electricity yrs ago has made me more than cautious.
by way of an update, i took the front control panel off, disconnected and reconnected a couple of the wires, cleaned it up a bit ( i know that did nothing to help it but it did make me feel a bit better) and tuned everything on, and bugger me its back to life. got it on a spin cycle, so will try a wash next, fingers crossed.

ParticipantnomadPaul wrote:Have you done the simple check of the drain pump impellor ?
Switch the applaince to ‘drain’ and start . Does the pump come on ?
If you can’t hear the pump come on then there may well be a blockage in the impellor. You will need to remove the fluff filter in the bottom right corner.
Be prepared for some water to come out and power off before doing any investigationshi,
i did try the drain option, but nothing happened, some noise as if it were trying to do something but no more than that. i will open up the impellor and have a look and let you know. will also post the serial number later.
thanks for looking in

Pop the model number up from around the door or the rear 😀Greg
hi gegsy,
thanks for replying firstly, and i will get eh model number up later, the missus noticed that it drained thru the night so she spun the contents and put another wash on – dont ask!
the rinse hold option on this machine is a knob you have to turn and tbh i dont think we have ever used it. is it possible for the rinse hold to turn itself on as it were?
my thought is that as it drained albeit slowly during the night that there must be a block somewhere, though i could find nothing in the pipe, but perhaps the whole thing needs to come off
