ParticipantRe: smeg fan oven – no heat when using oven only
hello!
thats good info… im toying with the idea of trying to fix this myself… any thoughts?
when you say the label on the “top of oven” do you mean inside the oven or the outside..? if you mean outside, that is hidden by the worktop it is built into and the 4 piece electric hob built into that worktop…
the search for the manual or instructions continues!

Turn screw to the right (clockwise) to tension, ie- compensate the weight, which will bring the door up quicker and to the left (anticlockwise) to make it drop down harder.Greg
thanks.. ill get that door on and let you know how it goes..

thanks for the reply. the problem was two screws that i hadnt spotted.
now the problem is one of the plastic clips snapped in the process and ill need to replace it. is that going to be an easy part to find?January 10, 2007 at 7:34 pm in reply to: how to remove panel door from semi-integrated dishwasher? #200279wallofbeans
ParticipantRe: how to remove panel door from semi-integrated dishwasher
anyone?
it seems to have two plastic clips at the top on the left and right. it looks like they need pushing down so the panel can be pulled away from the unit but no matter how hard i push i cant get it to move!
can i just break the clips? will new one come with the new machine? or do i need to save these? there must be a knack to it, i just dont know what it is!
thanks all

ParticipantRe: too cold
any tips on how to check if its been mounted correctly?
i didnt fit it myself.. it was fitted by a guy found through these forums!
if its an easy check id like to make sure all is okay without having to call him again unless i get out of my depth!its a SMEG built in fridge – model number: FR158SE
plus – the wire that comes from the themostat is too long so he curled it up a few times but its still loose hanging.. might that be part of the problem?

Just roll a small amount of it in a ball and poke it in the end of the ‘vent hose’ (remember to take it out and clear away the lint regularly! 😉 )
really? wow!
not just placed over the end but actually rolled in a ball. and that wont block the air coming out?wallofbeans
ParticipantRe: fix or replace?
okay so a very nice guy came and (we hope) fixed the fridge… the temp dial that goes from 1-5 was broken and wasnt actually changing the temperature so the fridge was off… replacement dial it is then (been ordered)… fridge working again.. great…
that is until now. it seems to have stopped getting cold again and im thinking it might be more complicated than just the dial. when it first stopped getting cold i turned it off and on again and it worked for a few hours before giving up again… i think this may have happened again this afternoon…
we’re going to call him back tomorrow but i wondered if anyone had an ideas what might be the problem before we do?
anyone?
he’s not coming back til tuesday and im not sure i can stand another weekend without a fridge… if there’s anything i can do to fix it (giving it a kick springs to mind) or any info i can find out that’ll help make sure its fixed when he comes back would be really helpful!do i need to pull apart the fitted cupbaords before he arrives to give access to the workings of the fridge for example?
thanks.
