i would have thought you would be ok if it is just the hinges,however some models do have a cut off switch controlling the oven/grill which is either on the frame of the appliance or operated by the opening and closing of the oven door.HTH 🙂 🙂

if the oven is controlled by an fsd,then you will probably find that this is the problem,when you ignite the oven do you have to keep the oven knob depressed when igniting and hold the knob in for 5-10 seconds once lit?if this is the case then that would be my first diagnosis.you should not attempt any repair on gas appliances,please call in a competent person to carry out any repairs.

andrew,if as you say(yes its maple but surely if the appliances not that good doesn’t that mean more work)Are the spares to be replaced of inferior quality too and therefore a recall would be made while still under warranty?this would incur the engineer re attending at their own cost?please clarify.
