    Re: Low cost range cooker

Expect poor quality, poor reliability, poor cooking performance and the probability of buying another cooker in a few years.

You can avoid all that though by waiting and saving a little longer and getting a Rangemaster.

    Re: Connecting Gas Cookers.

Why do people think gas cookers are “easy to connect” ?

Like its just a matter of fitting a hose and plugging it in ?

Thus far all appear have ignored those requests therefore, in the spirit of fairness, if I ban one I have to ban both or the other will cry foul. I can’t win here.

I don’t see why you would have to ban me, I haven’t directly called somebody an idiot or indeed been the aggressor in any of this and its not as if this is a first time offence either, all I have done is replied when called out.

However much as though I’d like to be able to say who’s right, who’s wrong or whatever I can’t and, I really don’t much care either.

If this conversation continues with the aggressive manner we’ve seen the offending posts will be deleted by myself or the moderators. I’m sorry but enough is really enough and, I am not having a go or accusing anyone in particular.

I would suggest that if you guys want to continue this in the same vein then would you please do so by PM or email, whatever.

With respect ken it’s your job as an admin to make sure that direct abuse is dealt with, while ever you let a forum member call another one an idiot without moderating i.e. a short ban or the bare minimum actually removing the comment you yourself are letting this carry on, I’m pretty sure if he’d called you an idiot in such a manner you would have deleted the comment, I and others are baffled as to why that member gets away with so much.

Apart from the bun fight between Dr Dill and WSTS that is :rolls: ok Martin, somebody calls you a liar and says you don’t know what your on about, are you just going to sit there and take it especially when you know you are 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} correct ?

    Re: Wheres It Made

Sorry I’ve been off for so long and not been on to be able to answer this one… but as usual Dr Dill is wrong again, NW Spirit 100 (and its derivatives) are not uk ranges, if anybody like (Dr Dill for example) would like to dispute this then head on down to currys, you will see its assembly is completely different to the Prescott built appliances but it does match the build of the own brand Logik cookers which like our previous argument are Turkish Vestel builds, I’m sure he will come on here and say “no they aren’t” without actually checking but you can rest assured that they are and that my (quote) “worldly knowledge of GDHA” stays in tact as does Dr Dills “constantly wrong”.

DrDill wrote:Or when one member actually puts down alot of other engineers and elevates his skills and ablities,( called Technical Enginer), something i think others missed.see this quote:-

Again proving you know very little about GDHA, simple repairs, the like of which you speak would very rarely be done by in house engineers, they were sent out to the much more complicated stuff, in case you didnt know most cookers, gas included were run by pcb’s, pressure switches and logic boards, not your standard stuff, the standard stuff gets sent to contractors.

Contractors (read independants) sent to simple repairs as the more complicated repairs (if there is such a thing) are done by the GDHA engineers, of which wst was one, what a put down for all the independants, i bet you didnt realise we were in such company!!
As usual just a load of old tripe, I really don’t know why you bother, it’s not like anyone cares what you have to say, it’s usually wrong anyway.

Perhaps it’s a knee jerk reaction by moderators sick and tired of childish comments between ‘members’ arguing an otherwise pointless issue?Maybe one of those members was accused of not knowing what he was on about when it turns out he was 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} correct all along, you may not want to defend yourself, others will though.

DrDill wrote:So a technical engineer is the same as a normal engineer? No different? I never said I knew a lot about GDHA, I also didn’t say you were right, but you said you was a “technical” engineer for stoves 6 years ago, but you actually mean you was just a standard engineer and that means you probably wasn’t that good, that’s why you are not there any more. It sort of makes sense as the GDHA engineers that I have seen struggle to replace oven doors and get them to close properly, very poor. And that’s the reason why I won’t be selling them anymore.

For example I would love to see you put in front of Stoves GRF going into either hard or soft lock out and ask you how you are going to fix it, and my reasons for leaving Stoves were that I was so much in demand that I didn’t have time for the day job anymore.

I used to be an AGA engineer too and was asked to go back take over service for the La Cornue brand for them (cookers that can cost more than houses) by my old service manager, I declined as it meant becoming employed again….. so no, I wouldn’t class myself as a poor engineer.

By the way, you didn’t have to say I was right, I already know it, just as everybody who’s done what I listed knows too.
