Beko Polish Production Starts

Beko Europe has started production at it’s plant in Wrocław, Poland that we beleive was previously a Whirlpool facility before the merger of Beko and Whirlpool in Europe.

Bosch To Close Plant

In December of last year, Bosch announced the closure of its plant in Esquíroz, Navarra in Spain which makes refrigeration and compact dishwashers. The facility is due to close this year and costs are to blame with production set to move to Poland or Turkey.

Whirlpool Stock Woes

Last month, Fitch, the ratings agency, cut Whirlpool’s rating to effectively junk due to high debts and a slow recovery in demand for appliances and further said that the outlook for the company was negative, as well as further downgrades may come if performance doesn’t improve. 

Xiaomi Are Coming

Many people in the UK will not be aware of who or what Xiaomi (shau-mee) is and yet, it’s one of the largest companies in the world producing a vast range or products in multiple sectors, from toothbrushes to phones, to cars. They’re starting to make major appliances now as well.

Vestel Downgraded

Turkish company Vestel has been downgraded by Fitch from a B+ to B- with a negative outlook, following a not-so-great 2024 for the company but the reasoning for this is interesting and, for us in the UK where Vestel make tons of stuff, surprising.
