ParticipantHi all. great info on here. i have the same issue with the same model machine. just been quoted £146 to replace ‘the module’ , but no idea if that is actually this D7 thing. can anyone tell me EXACTLY what is involved in removing the board, testing the D& , removing/replacing the D& etc. I am not an electrician, i don’t have any of those kind of tools. I would guess you can snip the diode legs and solder a new one to those legs ? any help appreciated.

Moderatorthe board is mounted inside the machine i think at the bottom in a plastic case
you could always see if one of the sites proffessional members live close and knows how to fix this fault

Thanks Dave, i tried the map but it won’t zoom in enough to show where the engineers are. it just tells me there are 23 in Stockport 🙁
As for accessing the D7 diode . . do i need to get the machine in its back, side ? how do i get to it ?
I just drove to RS Components to buy a D7 diode only to find them closed. i must be the only person in the UK who didn’t know today is a Bank Holiday :/

Moderatoraccess is from the back as far as i know
fill in your post code and the machine to get a list of repairers. The map only goes so big
i got 9 when i filled in a random post code with the top 3 recommended
one of them is in stockport on Buxton road, have not checked them all

Participantok, i dont have one of those. i can take the board to work tomorrow and ask an electrician to take a look, if it is the diode could it be replaced with any diode of the same value, i.e. 100v 2A , or does it have to be a STPS2H100 ?

Moderatorit has to be a high frequency doide so must be
Schottky typehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schottky_diode

ParticipantHi, new to the forum but my Daughter has something similar with her Beko washer/dryer (WDA914401W) suddenly stopped working for no reason, no indicator lights on but door lock keps clicking. All fuses OK but no lights on front panel. Just need to ask where the main board is located on this machine and is the lock clicking a symptom of this fault or is it something else?
Cheers

Moderatoras far as i know the lock clicking would mean there is power on the board so your may be a board failure
board looks like its rear right bottom

ParticipantThanks Dave, Could thie board failure be the diode failure discussed in this thread? If it is are all the D7 diodes the same or do I have to remove the board first and check the diode type?

Moderatoras far as i know with a d7 failure its totally dead but you have a clicking lock
remove board and check for damage, slugs are not uncommon
