My washing machine seems to have now completely stopped working and quite honestly I feel very saddened by ISE. I fully appreciate the bad weather but surely nearly 3 months is a bit ridiculous?

Anyway just thought I would update you.

    Hi,

Yes, it is ridiculous. I would not disagree.

I also happen to know about this as it was a call that came up for discussion.

It turns out that, before your original post we had no notification of the spares required at all. No contact from the initial report from anyone.

Now, we’re good, but we aren’t able to take action without anybody telling us anything. We only got information at the start of December on what this was actually all about after we chased it up.

    K.

Bit confused by this comment as I reported the problem in October and I have an email confirming this???????? Or do you mean nobody contacted you re: what parts were needed after my initial engineers visit?

    Yes, that is correct unfortunately.

The call was raised and issued then not heard from until your contact late November/early December then the guys in the office had to try to find out what was going on before they could do anything.

    What can I say??

I am now having to travel a 14 mile round trip to use my sisters Creda simplicity and can’t believe the improvement on the washing results! Either my washing machine has been bad a long time or ISE just arn’t that good? I am feeling quite depressed now about the ISE and really wish I hadn’t bought it!

Oh dear , communication really doesn’t seem to be very good from ISE . From a different perspective, I applied in April 2009 to become involved in providing service for ISE and at the same time , repairs@ . After a long period of nothingness , and various enquiries chasing my application , I was as good as told I hadn’t sent my applications in a very patronising way . Probably a month later, out of the blue , mysteriously my applications were both found under a pile of papers on Kens desk .

Courtesy calls would be nice too but I get no info unless I ring them every time and I am starting to feel like they are taking the p*&#! ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

So far as I am aware the parts were dispatched today.

Chezza, you issue/s are something entirely separate to this and should be discussed in one of the trade forums.

really ? i thought it was just the same thing , ie inability to contact / stay in touch , otherwise I would have included the fact that I had the same experience when I foolishly decided to apply for amica work too last year , though thought better to chasing that one up .

    I wouldn’t.

But since you seem intent on having this conversation in public…

You sent in the form for repairs@ by snail mail and it went astray. Yes, it was eventually found but quite when it arrived we don’t know.

You applied for the Amica work and heard when it actually started but, it appears that this wasn’t good enough for you and you decided to then decline the work. The fact is there was a few months between the applications and the actual setup and start of it. That was entirely your decision.

But, funnily enough, nobody else had any communication about it in that time either.

The short of it is that, if there’s nothing to actually communicate then there’s little point in sending out any form of media that says, “hello, we know you’re still there but we’ve not got anything to tell you that wasn’t the same as it was yesterday” or week, or month, or whatever.

Well, you also have to bear in mind that you stated that you were working in other areas, travelling and (more or less) that your business wasn’t stable. It hardly seems like a good idea to pass work to someone that isn’t in their area all the time and may well no longer be trading, you actually didn’t expect to be trading by Christmas according to YOUR email of 1st October.

Since then nobody has been in the area to contact you again as per your email conversation with John who said:

John wrote:I am sorry to hear that Eddie, lets hope we can help you out. I will be coming to the North West sooner rather than later (top of Scotland, Middle of Wales) take a bit more planning

The inference being that, when he was in the area he’d make contact. He hasn’t been in the area. Generally speaking, Hawick isn’t a high priority area to go and visit as it’s regarded as fairly remote.

We haven’t a clue what your doing or whether you are even still trading.

Since then you have made no contact until this dig in a public forum, which is fine if that’s the way you want to go.

    Hi Eddie,

Thanks for contacting us. I will set you on the system and come to see you this side of Christmas to explain what is happening.

    Kind regards

    John

As I say, e mail or phone call too much trouble ?

Re: ISE5 Broken down for weeks and no one seems to care?????

There was this little rash of bad weather, you might have noticed it, which sorta put all those plans out the window.

I would have thought that common sense and a look out your window might have made that apparent.

Therefore, since most of the population sort of understood that the country more or less ground to a halt in various areas over almost a month, we thought that the service agents being reasonably intelligent would have sussed that. Apparently not entirely.

So, here’s the thing, after the very last email which states:

Chezza wrote:I sometimes do work away , and am sometimes in Edinburgh, Manchester , Newcastle , parts of Yorkshire and other parts of Scotland, so if you are near any of these places, it may be worth checking in case I am going to be close, in which case I can meet you there, John , given that Hawick is in the back of beyond…

Has John been in touch since then or, if the previous quote was after the above, since that email?

Answers on a postcard but, I expect not.

Re: ISE5 Broken down for weeks and no one seems to care?????

    Hi all,

I feel that i must post in defence of john.

When he and ken promised to sort something for me, that was not even important in the scale of things, john said he would contact me when he was able to visit somerset, he phoned me to arrange and was here within 2 weeks ๐Ÿ˜€ .

After this due to unforeseen circumstances i required another visit, i contacted ken who passed the message to john, who was on the phone the next day, (within that damn snow) and said he would contact me after christmas. I was very shocked on the day after boxing day when i had a phone call from john to say that he would be able to see me on 5th jan!!Neither times were the visits at all important but ise wanted to sort it for me.

Thus, i am sure if john had been in your area or you gave him some dates as to when you were in other areas, so he could try and arrange his time, i am sure he would have contacted you. Like i said, i have had no problem with ise, ken or john contacting me.

Just wanted to give another side of the coin ๐Ÿ˜€

    regards

This is all a bit irrelevant to the poor old OP whoโ€™s washing machine failed in October 2010. I do hope her machine has been repaired – If not why canโ€™t a local ISE agent sort out and put in a loaner?
