Machine aside , the op had an engineer diagnose fault and apparently order parts , it then took well over a month to realise parts hadn’t been ordered !
then parts have finally been sourced , dispatched last tuesday but to date the customer has heard nothing ?

    Kwatt.

Many thanks for your comprehensive reply earlier, explained the situation candidly and much appreciated.

I also appreciate the open discussion here, where agreed, this would not have happened on a forum hosted by those selling/servicing other makes.

Hopefully Mo6 will be up and running Monday.

Exactly what i was thinking Chezza! Very dependable agent :rolls: . Glad he doesnt cover my area!!

IMO ise have done what they could when they actually heard of the OP problem. The fact that there was a unpredictable demand for the part, then the first batch ordered were faulty (water damaged) was no fault of ise. Then ise promptly ordered more, sent them to the agent asap, however, thus far, said agent has failed to contact mumof6 to get the machine fixed, this i do find completely unsatisfactory 👿

I would just like to tell everyone about a little experiment i did a couple of days ago, while waiting for my friend to come out of the hairdressers :rolls: . I went into several stores that sell washers and asked if their guarantees/warranties (including the ones you pay extra for to extend) would give me a ‘loaner’ if i was without a machine while waiting for repair, however long. All said no, if the parts were available and the machine was economical to repair, “you would just have to wait, madam” was the actual answer. (you know when you are getting old, when you start getting called madam 🙁 )

Mumof6’s problems were obviously caused by a series of unfortunate events that were beyond anyones complete control, however I feel the local agent should bare the ‘brunt’ of responsibility by not ordering the part required when it should have been, thus informing ise of the fault with the machine much more quickly. Then the communication problems, IMO a telephone call to a company is far better than sending emails to one particular person, at least you know that they know by speaking to them. Then comes into play the batch of faulty parts, having to get a new batch sent over and now back to the mumof6’s local agent :rolls:. This is all IMVHO from re-reading the entire thread.

I really do feel for mumof6 being in this position, as i am addicted to washing and would hate to find myself in the same predicament. However i would not be laying the blame entirely at ise’s door but at all attributing factors.

Best wishes, mumof6, i hope your local agent gets to you asap and gets your machine washing again 😀

    kind regards to all

PS – And not forgetting another attributing factor, the part played by the insurance 👿 . This sort of situation is exactly why, as i have mentioned on previous threads, i am very pleased that ISE now back their own guarantees!!

    Hi
Just to say It is still not sorted. I have received no calls today but to be fair for a couple of hours this morning there was a fault on my line which BT were trying to fix. In the meantime my calls were diverted to my mobile (although there might have been a period without). The phone was fixed by 12pm and despite being in all day and having caller display and BT answerphone I have received no calls from anybody apart from my husband.

    Hi mumof6,

I think if this was happening to me i would go round to my local agent and give him a size 5 :hmm: , probably not much of an impact 😆 .

Seriously though, have you phoned your local engineer?

    best wishes

If this had happened to me we would have little option but to buy a cheap and nasty replacement machine to do the washing whilst we waited for the machine to be fixed.

It would be the most convenient and cost effective solution with a big family.

It would not be hugely eco-friendly.

The very reason why I bought a machine with a 5 year warranty, etc was so that I wouldn’t need to and obviously I thought ISE was a company to be trusted. Yes now I wish I had bought a cheaper machine in the beginning and if it only lasted me 2 years or so then so what I just buy another cheapie (would probably equal out the same as the cost of the ISE) Well you live and learn as they say!! As for buying a cheapie now (or before) well I would have if I had realised the whole farce would take over 3 months! But hindsight is a wonderful thing!

The OP first posted in some desperation on this forum on 24th November 2010. That was the time for someone at ISE to make it their job in life to find out who or what the problem was, and fix it or sort a loan machine if it could not be fixed…all the other comments don’t help address that, unfortunately.

Fortunately, I have every faith in my local supplier and know that I would never be left in that position.

The engineer that came to see my ISE in October is a chap that I usually use from choice so I was pleasantly surprised to see him coming to repair my machine as I know I can trust him. He has always been very reliable when I phone him for other electrical jobs and so therefore I find it most odd that he is possibly getting the blame for the initial slowness? I won’t be convinced that it is his fault until I speak to him.

Come on mumof6 you must surely have made contact by now since the part is with your trusted ISE agent AND your phone is now fully functional. Please tell us the good news…..

Why on earth should MO6 have to run around after this ? With the “service” she has experienced , the very least she deserves is a call from the agent , and surely ISE should have made sure that happened last week when spares were dispatched ?

Easy chezza….take a deep breath, don’t over excite yourself. Mumof6 only needs to pick up the phone, now it’s working and give them a bell, no running involved. Easy pal, lets just see what she says eh? There’s a good chap…AND, breath out now!:D

Exactly! I have done all the chasing and I think ISE have rung me back once. I would have thought a couple of courtesy calls from ISE wouldn’t have gone a miss – but no nothing! As for ringing the local agent – I do not consider that to be my job because as far as I am concerned in this case he is contracted by ISE and not me! Infact I rang ISE again this afternoon and the phone rang for 2½ mins approx before going dead but when I rang back and withheld the number someone answered straightaway!! Hmm!

A comment like this has really annoyed me to be honest, I have rung ISE too many times. The only future calls I will be making will be to Consumer Direct and national and local consumer programmes plus other interested parties. It was only because I recognised the local engineer that I know who he is but if it had been the company that first brought my ISE and replaced the original then all I could say about them was that they were from Staffordshire (I think) and had travelled 2½ hours to get to me (not very local). My phone was only out for a couple of hours at most and then I had it diverted to my mobile.
